We re looking for people who have skills in organization, recruitment, compassion, and service. Please sign up in the lobby if this is the ministry you feel passion for. We will meet 2-3 times a year for planning, and then before different outreach events to ensure all details are covered. Contact Dave Sleight with any other questions at sleight.journey@verizon.net.

Announcements JOURNEY KIDZ SUNDAY - SIGN UP TODAY! On December 20th, Journey Kidz will be leading both Sunday Morning Services. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our children to use their gifts and shine for Jesus! Each age group will be overseeing different portions of the service, everything from music, acting & speaking parts, and controlling various props! Sign-up in the lobby, at the Journey Kidz Check-Out station, or email Michelle. The deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, November 4th. As we will use portions of November Sunday morning service time to rehearse, students who sign up MUST COMMIT to attending one service each Sunday in November (excluding the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and both dress rehearsals December 12th & 19th at 9:00 am. This is an event that will require a lot of planning and preparation with our kids, so commitment is necessary! We are excited for all God will do with this time! If you have questions or wish to volunteer, please contact Michelle D'Angelo at journeykidz@verizon.net. WANTED: Journey Kidz LEADERS! Journey Kidz Ministry is the place to be! It takes a village to train a child in the way he/she should go. We are in need of a several more leaders to help teach and encourage our kids. If you are not serving yet, please look and see where you might like to help! Volunteer Applications are available at the Journey Kidz Check-In desk. Interested in serving, but still have some questions? Here are a few FAQ s about volunteering with Journey Kidz: Q: What does the process to become a leader look like? 1. Fill out an application (found at the Journey Kidz desk downstairs) and turn it in to Michelle 2. Michelle will find a time to meet with you to discuss what ages you would like to work with and answer any further questions you have at that time 3. A background check will be processed for every volunteer/leader 4. You will be scheduled for your class! Q: How will I know what to teach? A: We provide all the lessons, supplies, and tools you need to teach or assist in a class. Q: How often will I be scheduled? A: That is up to you and Michelle to decide. If you can only do once a month, great! If you want to do every Sunday and we have the need, that s great, too! For more information, please contact Michelle D'Angelo at journeykidz@verizon.net, or find her downstairs when you pick up your application!

Sermon Outline Next Steps Finding That One Thing Stephen Covey writes in his book, First Things First, People expect us to be busy and overworked. It s become a status symbol in our society if we re busy, we re important; if we re not busy, we re embarrassed to admit it. Busyness is where we get our security, it s validating, popular and pleasing, and it s also a good excuse for not dealing with the things that are most important in our lives. Luke 10:38-42 (NLT), As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, Lord, doesn t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me. But the Lord said to her, My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her. 1. The pressing can crowd out the needful 2. The good can crowd out the best 3. The temporal can crowd out the eternal

Sermon Outline Matthew 6:19-20 (NLT), Don t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Hebrews 11:24-25 (NLT), It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. Reflection Genesis 19:27 (NLT), Abraham got up early that morning and hurried out to the place where he had stood in the Lord s presence. Daniel 6:10 (NLT), But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. Acts 10:9 (CEV), About noon the next day as they came near Joppa, Peter was going up to the roof to pray. Mark 1:35 (CEV), Very early the next morning, Jesus got up and went to a place where he could be alone and pray. Time with God will drain you of your weaknesses so that God can fill you with His strength. Time with God will drain you of your will so that God can fill you with His will. Time with God will drain you of you so that God can fill you with Himself.
