Sermon Outline Defining Our Mission Building Biblical Community Mark 12:28-31 (NLT), One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, Of all the commandments, which is the most important? Jesus replied, The most important commandment is this: Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these. Acts 2:42-47 (NLT), All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, including the Lord s Supper, and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity; all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. 1 John 1:3-4, 6-7 (MSG), We saw it, we heard it, and now we re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy! If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we re obviously lying through our teeth we re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God s Son, purges all our sin.
Sermon Outline John 13:35, By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love ONE ANOTHER. Romans 12:10, Be devoted to ONE ANOTHER in brotherly love. Honor ONE ANOTHER above yourselves. Ephesians 5:21, Submit to ONE ANOTHER out of reverence for Christ. Colossians 3:13, Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against ONE ANOTHER. Romans 15:7, Accept ONE ANOTHER, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:11, Therefore encourage ONE ANOTHER and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Colossians 3:16, Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish ONE ANOTHER with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Life Groups at the Journey: Our vision is to connect people into groups who come together on a regular basis for a common purpose, to move toward full devotion to Christ, by intentionally providing an environment for connection, community, service and spiritual formation. In Life Groups People can find friendship People can be discipled in their faith People can be in an atmosphere of mutual accountability People can understand and discuss the truth of the Word of God People can identify and use their spiritual gifts in order to serve one another, the church, and their community People can provide care for one another People can share their faith in the most natural way Reflection
