Triduum to prepare for the solemnity of Christ the King Day 1: The Primacy of Christ Leader: In the name Amen Leader: Christ is the head of the body, the Church. He is the principle of creation and redemption. Raised to the Father's glory, in everything he is preeminent, especially in the Church, through whom he extends his reign over all things. (CCC 792) Blessed be God forever! Leader: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor or and glory and blessing. Rev 5:12 Leader: To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever. Rev 5:13 Leader: Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb. Rev 7:10 Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, power, and might be to our God forever and ever. Rev 7:12 Leader: O Jesus, our Eternal King, Reign in our hearts. The kingdom of Christ is already present in mystery, and on earth the Church is the seed, the beginning of the kingdom. (CCC 669) Blessed be God forever! Leader: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessing. Leader: Make full use of your rights over us, Christ our King! We renew the promises we made in Baptism, when we renounced the power of evil in our lives, and we promise to live a good Christian life and to do all in our power to procure the triumph of the rights of God and Your Church so that the Kingdom of Your peace may be established throughout the universe. On this foundation the Church is built by the apostles and from it the Church receives solidity and unity. (CCC 756) Blessed be God forever! Leader: Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and a glory and blessing. Rev 5:12 Leader: To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever. Rev 5:13 Leader: Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb. For in you we live and move and have our being. We give you y praise and thanks, Christ our King. Leader: We want to give you our lives today, Christ Jesus. We know that anything we build without you just won t last. We ve tried and it has failed, and we don t want to do that anymore. We want you. We want you to be first in our lives. We want you to be our foundation. We want you to be our cornerstone. Jesus, we need you. We humble ourselves right now, and we let you into our lives and surrender to you. We cherish your presence in our lives. You make life worth living. You give us strength and purpose

for each and every day. Thank you for your love, God. We return that love by pledging to build up your kingdom here on earth. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Reader: A reading from the book of the Prophet Isaiah: Thus says the Lord God: See, I am laying a stone in Zion, a stone that has been tested, a precious cornerstone as a sure foundation; whoever puts faith in it will not waver. The Word of the Lord. (Is 28:16) Leader: The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes. (Ps 118:22-23) Reader: A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians: So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. The Word of the Lord. (Eph 2:19-22) Leader: Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, And, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1Pt 2:4-5) Reader: A reading from the t Holy Gospel according to Matthew: Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; c by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes? The Gospel of the Lord. (Mt 21:42) Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ! Leader: He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.
