THE TEN COMMANDMENTS I. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me: and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me and keep My commandments. III. Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His Name in vain. SABBATH SCHOOL STUDY SECOND QUARTER APRIL-MAY-JUNE 2013 CHRIST IV. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. V. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. VI. Thou shalt not kill. VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery. VIII. Thou shalt not steal. IX. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. X. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.

The Secret of Bible Study Study IT through Never begin a day without reading and understanding one of the questions of the next Sabbath's Lesson. Pray about IT-Never leave your Bible until the text you have read and studied is apart of your very being. Write IT down-the thoughts that God gives you put it on your margin or in a note book, etc. Refer to this when having the review or the study of the lesson in Sabbath school. Work IT out Live the truth you receive through out the rest of the day and think about it as you go to sleep. Pass IT on Seek to tell somebody, your family, neighbour or friend, what you have learned and perhaps your listener will start to do the same thing as you. Surely soon after you will have the beginnings of a Sabbath school. The Church of God believes that there is only one source which will bring us to salvation through Jesus the Christ. This source can not be add to nor taken away from. Revelation 22:18,19 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. De 4:2,Rev 1:3. We are told repeatedly God s word is unchangeable why do so many add to and take away from it? LESSON FOR SABBATH, JUNE 29, 2013 "JESUS AND WAR" Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:1-12; Revelation 19:11-16. Golden Text: James 4:1. NOTE: If the example of the Lord Jesus was universally accepted carnal warfare would be impossible. Matthew 5:44. 1. Where did Jesus say is the source of all wars and fighting's? Mark 7:21; James 4:1. Satan has been after the heart of man since the beginning with Adam and Eve. Genesis 3:4,5. 2. What Sword are Children of God to use today? Ephesians 6:17. Only in this manner are we able to be the victor against the adversary. Jude 9: Matthew 16:23; Luke 4:8. 3. How did the Apostle Paul describe the Saint's warfare during this age? Romans 7:23. 4. Is there a time when the Saints will partake in a war? Revelation 19:13, 14; Jude 14,15; Matthew 3:7. 5. Who will be the Commander in Chief? Revelation 19:11, 16; 17:14; Zechariah 14:1-4. 6. What is one of the words used to describe a Saint today? 2 Timothy 2:3,4; Philippians 2:5; Philemon 2. 7.What word describes the Saint's protection? Ephesians 6:11-18. NOTE: Today the Child of God is engaged in warfare against the desires and lusts of a carnal mind. We are called into this conflict that we may prove ourselves (by God's grace) to be chosen into Jesus' army - when our calling and election are made sure. Matthew 22:14. 8. What is the outcome of this Apocalyptic War (Armageddon)? Revelation 19:19-21. 9. Which army are you going to be in at this time, Jesus' Army or the world's army of Satan?

LESSON FOR SABBATH, JUNE 22, 2013 "WAR IN THE BIBLE" Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 20:1-20. Golden Text: Deuteronomy 20:4. NOTE: There are two kinds of war mentioned in the Bible. We learn of the" Holy War"and the"apocalyptic War."In this lesson we will learn of the Holy War during the ancient times of Israel. 1. Today, many think of God only as a God of love and peace. Can He be a God of war? Exodus 17:16; Deuteronomy 9:3; 20:4; Judges 6:16; Revelation 19:11-16. 2. Who was Israel to consult before engaging in any military operations? Who chose the commanding officer? 1 Samuel 16:12, 13; Numbers 27:18, 19. NOTE: The Commanding Officer was given a special"gift"of the Holy Spirit of God. By virtue of this Holy Gift he held his command. If for any reason the Spirit was withdrawn from him, his authority to lead went with it. 1 Samuel 16:14. 5. When God's army was at one with the Lord and He fights for them, how many soldiers will the army lose? Judges 7:7, 16, 22; 8:4, 8, 10, 11, 28. These men went according to the Lord's instructions, and the Lord brought down the enemy. No man by himself is capable of such feats. NOTE: Israel gradually sank into greater transgressions until the Lord no longer fought for her as in early times. After the 70-year captivity Israel could not wage a war. Only certain small revolts against the dominant Gentile power took place. In our next lesson we will study about the Apocalyptic War foretold from ages past.

LESSON FOR SABBATH, JUNE 15, 2013 THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 13. Golden Text: Hebrews 1:2. In the world there are different ideas concerning the spirit of prophecy. What does the Bible tell us about this Spirit? 1. How did the Father in heaven converse with mankind before the time of Jesus? Hebrews 1:1; Ezekiel 3:17. NOTE: In these last days it is important to know the will of God and look for the appearing of Jesus Christ. We are to teach all things that Jesus said. Matthew 28:20. 2. In these last days, since the ascension, who are we to listen to? Hebrews 1:2; Deuteronomy 4:29, 30. 3. The spirit of prophecy is endowed in one person at a time. The Lord led Israel by the hand of Moses - Isaiah 63:11, 12. Moses was a type of Christ - Deuteronomy 18:15,18,19. There was no other prophet like Moses - Deuteronomy 34:10-12. Moses offered his life for the people - Exodus 32:32,33; Hosea 12:13. NOTE: Moses was indeed the individual who had the spirit of prophecy. Other great prophets are: Samuel - 1 Samuel 3:20; Elijah - 1 Kings 17:1. We do not have room for the many other prophets. 4. Who is mentioned as the greatest of all prophets in the New Testament? What did John signify as he began to write the Book of Revelation? Revelation 1:1-3. John recorded the testimony of Jesus. 7. The Spirit of Prophecy - Jesus Christ brings unity of the faith. There are many good men that preach some of the things of the Word of God. They do not preach the" Spirit of Prophecy" for they do not accept Jesus as the last prophet. God said, "Hear ye Him." Matthew 17:5. He is the leading prophet for these last days and He counsels the Children of God and brings about unity.

LESSON FOR SABBATH, JUNE 8, 2013 A LESSON FROM THE LIFE OF DANIEL Scripture Reading: Daniel 1. Golden Text: Daniel 6:16. Daniel was descended from Judah's king Hezekiah. Compare 2 Kings 20:17, 18 with Isaiah 29:6, 7. As we study his character we cannot but be impressed with his refinement, his reserve and the high pointed way of life. 1. Daniel was a man of purpose. Daniel 1:8. He had a conviction that this thing was wrong; he would not defile his body. How easy to drift with the crowd, without resistance. Daniel 1:16,17. 2. Daniel was a man of prayer. Daniel 6:10. Circumstances and surroundings made no difference. Many pray when popular and when unpopular do not pray. Prayer was a fixed part of his life. Revelation 5:8; 8:3; Psalms 65:2. 3. Daniel was a man of faith. Hebrews 11:32,33. The outstanding men of the Bible were men of faith. Luke 18:8; Romans 10:17; 14:23. 4. Daniel was a man of excellent Spirit. Daniel 6:3. Exceptional, extraordinary, worthy, choice... Excelling he passed all the other, and this did not just happen. Daniel 6:4; Proverbs 3:1-6; Titus 2:11-14. 5. Daniel was a man of testimony. Daniel 6:4, 5. It was found in the life that he lived. A man with the above outstanding characteristics would be a man of testimony. Philippians 2:15; 1 Peter 4:12-16; Philippians 3:13,14. 6. Daniel was a man of humility. Daniel 10:17; 2:30, 31. Proverbs 29:23. One of Daniel's greatest form of character was his humility. Isaiah 57:15; Matthew 18:4. LESSON FOR SABBATH, APRIL 20, 2013 THE SOBERING CERTAINTIES Scripture Reading: Matthew 13:1-9, 36-43. Golden Text: Matthew 13:40. Again we find seven sobering certainties that face the sinner that will not repent. It means to be "hostile" and suggests an active course in opposition to all that God says is right. 1. Will the wicked remain before the Lord? 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Philippians 3:19; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 22:11-13. NOTE: The close intimacy that Daniel had with God and the King made Daniel the courtier, man of business, reconciling politics with religion, magnanimity with humility, authority with affability, conversation with retirement.

LESSON FOR SABBATH, APRIL 27, 2013 THE RETURN OF CO-OPERATING Scripture Reading: Nehemiah 4. Golden Text: 1 Chronicles 12:38. To be successful in any venture co-operation is essential. What are we promised when we keep God s law? Joshua 1:8 3. What are we to do for the weak? 1 Samuel 14:6,7; Acts 20:35; 1 Thessalonians 5:14 4. How is the spirit of man inspired? Job 32:8; Titus 3:16. 5. Are we to encourage those around us? Deuteronomy 1:38; 3:28. 6. What does the Bible tell us about helping? Acts 26:22; 16:9; Philippians 4:3; Hebrews 4:16 7. Does the Bible example to us about praying together? Matthew 18:19; Acts 12:11, 12; 1:13, 14 8. What has Jesus the Christ done for us and how must we stand? Mark 2:3; Philippians 1:27; 1 Peter 3:7-9. 9. What does the Bible tell us about love? Revelation 2:4; 3 John 1:1; 2 John 1:5, 6; 1 John 4:21; Revelation 3:19; 1 Peter 3:8; Ephesians 3:19; John 17:26; 15:12, 13 LESSON FOR SABBATH, JUNE 1, 2013 BARNABAS - - (PAUL'S COMPANION) Scripture Reading: Acts 11:16-30. Acts 14:14. 2. It took a man like Barnabas to introduce Saul (Paul) the persecutor, of the church at Jerusalem. Acts 9:26-29. 3. What did the residents of Lyconia call Barnabas? Acts 14:11,12. 4. To what place was Barnabas sent to begin his ministry? Acts 11:22-24. 5. While Barnabas ministered at Antioch whom did he bring to the Church? Acts 11:25,26.. 6. With all this goodness and spiritual endowment what lamentable incident happened to Barnabas? Acts 12:25; 13:13; 15:36-37. NOTE: Had Paul been too resentful against Mark? Had Barnabas been too eager and easy? It is good to know that both were reconciled afterwards. Colossians 4:10; Mark later wrote his venerable Gospel and was a useful vessel for the Church. 2 Timothy 4:11. 7. There is no perfect person; Jesus only is the perfect one. We can see that Barnabas with all his faith and allegiance r could lack firmness in the breaking away from the laws of Moses. Galatians 2:13. 8. What was the dissimulation that took place in the Antioch church? Galatians 2:12-14. This took place before the Council held in Jerusalem. Acts 15:9, 25, 28, 35.
