JH Fall Retreat 2014 Idyllwild Pines Christian Camp Guest Speaker Dana Dill Worship Band The Surrender Bonding Games FUN!!! All 7 th and 8 th grade students will be attending a 3-day retreat at Idyllwild Pines Christian Camp. This retreat will grow our students spiritually and in fellowship for the school year. It will be presented in an un-intimidating and relaxing atmosphere so that all students will benefit from its well planned activities. We are very excited for a wonderful trip! To see more about Idyllwild Pines go to http://www.idyllwildpines.org/

Hello Junior High Parents! We leave for our junior high retreat in three weeks and I just wanted to give you an idea of what to expect. This is not only meant to be a time of camaraderie and team building, but more importantly, it is a time of reflection, worship and adoration to the Lord and what he is doing in our lives. Our theme for this school year and for the retreat is walk in truth. It is my prayer that these three days will be a time where we can serve one another and love one another as a direct response to how Jesus serves and loves us. It is my hope that through all the events planned chapel, worship, devotions, games, activities the students will not only have a great experience with each other, but will simply fall more in love with our Savior. On Wednesday, October 8th, each student attending the retreat is to be at CVCS by 7:30 am. The students will be separated into different teams and each team will have its own unique name and color. Students are encouraged to wear this color as much as possible throughout the duration of the retreat especially because they receive points for team spirit, activities won, punctuality, etc., etc. (The students will receive their teams and colors the Friday before retreat). Students will ride with their teammates on the bus to Idyllwild Pines and much of the time, the bus ride is as fun as the retreat itself J Wednesday afternoon consists of an assortment of team bonding games and Wednesday evening is our first chapel. We have a fantastic praise band attending and our speaker is thoroughly excited to share God s Word with all of your kids! After chapel, we split up for a time of reflection and fellowship and following that, it s lights out. Thursday morning begins with a worship and quiet time at the main amphitheater. After breakfast, we have our second chapel and from there we split into our mentor groups to discuss, pray and study what we have been learning. Thursday afternoon activities are various sessions where each student can choose what they would like to do. Activities range from hikes, to whiffle ball, to basketball, to arts/crafts and so on. Thursday evening is similar to Wednesday, with chapel after dinner and an all camp filed game to end the night. Our second worship/quiet time is on Friday morning at the main amphitheater. After breakfast, we get the cabins cleaned up, attend our last chapel and pack our lunches to come home. We should arrive back at CVCS by 2:00 pm. It is my desire that we can partner together in prayer for the entire junior high, especially in their continual growth with the Lord and with each other. Blessings, Ms. Jacqueline Firestone Facullty Junior High Science Advisor SLT (Student Leadership Team) Capistrano Valley Christian Schools
