Also many thanks to the Auxiliary, REAC, and Aries members for helping with the meal. All of the meat was donated by the Johnson County Pork Producers so if you see them at the food area of the Johnson County Fair, stop in and have a great meal. THANK YOU PORK PRODUCERS! Over $5100 was raised for the state charity CHILDSERVE. We received a letter of thanks from the Vice President of Development for CHILDSERV. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to refurbish a playground used by 600 children and expanding an Autism program for children who have communication and social interaction disorders. CHILDSERVE is the largest pediatric rehab center if its kind in the Midwest. Do not forget that May 31 is just around the corner and all annual dues need to be paid by then. April 28th!!! mark this on your calendar. This is the date of the SOCK HOP at 695 with the band "TWIST and SHOUT" playing many of your favorite old songs. Feel free to dress as you are, or as you were in the 60's and 70's. Admission is free and fun should be had by all. 7 to 11 pm. April 29th come to the club and enjoy visiting many of your brothers and sisters at our annual Anniversary dinner. During a recent building inspection, it was noted that our ventilation system in the cooking area of the kitchen does not meet current standards and will have to be replaced. We are still receiving quotes for this required upgrade at this time. Fundraisers will be started soon to help cover the costs of the upgrade. Due to the holiday, the past presidents breakfast will be on the 8th of April. As always, check you EMail for marks weekly calendar of events at your Eagles 695. Denny Brown President

Brothers and Sisters, We hope everyone had a nice Easter. There is lots of things going at the club this month. With spring here hopefully the weather will get warmer. and we can get outside. First off the past president breakfast will be on the 8th of April due to Easter being on the 1st. then on the 28th we will be having our 1st Sock Hop from 7 to 11 with twist and shout playing. Come join us for a fun filled night. Everyone likes Rock and Roll music. Than on Sunday we will be having our Anniversary luncheon. A great meal. we will be giving out anniversary pins. those who are getting pins will get a free meal. otherwise the meal is only 5.00 dollars and a wonderful meal cook by the Sweatings. This is great way to see what we give to our charities. We will be giving away scholarship money. So if you have student going off to college you should apply for this money. so do it soon to be eligible. We have received our State Raffle tickets that could win you part of $1,800.00. $5.00 per ticket and you could win $200.00, $600.00 or $1,000.00. Talk to any Eagle Rider and get your tickets now. The drawing will be in June, so you can buy many tickets over the next few months. The money raised will go to the State Charity. April 12 th will be our next meeting and we will have nominations for new officers. Please plan to attend and help our group with becoming an officer. It s always good to have new faces leading the way. New ideas and new leadership is always good for growth. We have 13 groups in Iowa now and we have many events across the state. Please join us and lets get new members involved so more can benefit from what we do. This is filled with different items such as walkers, crutches and many other medical supplies that are available to anyone in need of them. We are requesting that if you have received items or assistance from the closet and you are finished using the item that you please return the items to the Eagles. Also if you have any items at home that you would be willing to donate to the closet we would greatly appreciated the donation. This is an amazing benefit that we offer so please help support this cause. THANKS!! Volunteer Help needed for Bingo on Wednesday Nights. News from REAC We all are saddened by the passing of Marcella Klein. She was a Charter Member of the Iowa City 695 REAC Club. Served many years as Secretary, coordinated and promoted all activities. She also Served as State President of The Iowa State REAC. She will be very much missed. The membership fee for the Auxiliary is $24 for the year and for the Auxiliary all new members must be initiated which is held the 3rd Monday of the month.
