Home Read About the Book challenges readers, believers and nonbelievers alike, to look deeper into the foundations of the Christian faith in order to evaluate commonly held present-day beliefs in light of the earliest known understanding of s original premises, toward the goal of restoring to its roots. The book is divided into topics crucial to understanding Christian beliefs, including how we read the Bible, how we perceive God, the application of logic and reason, the meaning of faith, suffering, sovereignty, freedom, reliance on God, personal transformation, the purpose of life, and the meaning of prayer. Each topic is addressed from the perspective of current beliefs, followed by an historical analysis of the earliest known writings of, concluding with an application of the historical perspective to restore beliefs to their origins. Home > Story Behind Read Where did come from? - A Story for Inspiration, Cody s Story Cody had a degenerative neurological disorder called Chronic Inflammatory Demyleinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), which affected his breathing, coordination, all fine and gross motor skills, balance and stamina. He contracted the disease at around 19 months of age. Because of his strong relationship with God, Cody always believed that he could do whatever he set his heart and mind to do...in spite of what the doctors, the world, circumstances and appearances might have said to the contrary. What he did in his lifetime is impossible, according to everyone else but Jesus and Cody; and he did more in 17 years than many people accomplish in a lifetime. All Things Are Possible He received his second dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and he went for two consecutive years to the Junior Olympics in Tae Kwon Do (in order to go you must finish in the top three in your state competition) where he received national recognition in the form of multiple medals for his indomitable spirit and perseverance. Home > Reviews Facebook Review GoodReads Review Rev. William G. Houser, Ph.D. Author, Who Is this Jesus Christ? may be likened to a purifying process, where the authors, like patient jewelers heat and purify their material until all the dross has been removed and the simple precious metal remains. Of course, their project and scope is giant in size: finding the elemental core of the Holy Scriptures after separating out centuries of wrongful, if well-intentioned, interpretations which have reduced the pure and simple content of God s Word and Will. The authors work in tandem, one dealing with the linguistic and historic roots of the original Bible writings, and the other setting them in a context of Christian living for today. The effort works, and is gratifyingly successful in helping the earnest reader understand God s intentions, His plans and hopes, and greatest of all, His unconditional love for humankind represented forever by the incarnation and sacrifice of His own Son, Jesus Christ. This is not a Reformed work, or a Protestant work, or a Catholic work, this is a Christian work and is refreshingly focused on the Gospel basics that ignited the world when the Good News was first preached in its truest and most earnest forms to a desperate world. is work of faith, hope, and love, above all love. Now how many books can you find that brings you those? Read it and grow. J. Colin Harris, Ph.d. Mercer University Professor of Religion Chair, Department of Liberal Studies The serious reader will be led on a theological and historical journey that will both inform and sharpen the perspective for participating in what I m sure will be one of the major conversations of the twenty-first century. It is an excellent and systematic treatment of central areas of theological concern a unique blending of rigorous historical/critical scholarship, careful and penetrating analysis of theological themes and concepts, and creative application to contemporary human experience through a wholesome partnership of theology, philosophy, and psychology. A careful and attentive reader will be rewarded with a new window, or lens, through which to see and think about concepts t hat have been a part of religious life for a long time. A reader who has not been around church much will find a challengingly and refreshingly sensible presentation of Christian faith with an appeal not unlike C. S. Lewis Mere. Jamie Rasche, M.D. Grace Harbour, Inc Here is a beautifully constructed lesson, from two brilliant people, but the real grab you through the heart message comes from a courageous young man who by simply being - living in faith and relationship, distills the whole book. I cried at some sections so beautifully done. Just what we need to see the revelation of God in terms that really portray the Divine-human relationship in a way that makes sense, not fragmented or contradictory. Congratulations on a magnificent collaborative effort!!
