More News and Notes ~Don t Miss the Hour Of Power Holy Hour~ Just a Reminder, that we will gather for the Last of the Three Holy Hours requested by Bishop Ricken, THIS SUNDAY, February 8th, at 3:00pm. Dear Parish Family ~ Today s Gospel makes it clear that we are meant for Service. As soon as Jesus heals Simon s motherin law, she begins to serve. And, Jesus, who would probably like some rest as well, works every day, and all hours healing and preaching. What a contrast to the person of Job, who complains of his life s drudgery! As we hear God s Word today, how are we being called out of our drudgery, and into service? Questions for Reflection: With Lent less than two weeks away, how will my renewed commitment to baptized discipleship express itself in service to others? Does my daily schedule resemble, at all, Jesus balance of serious prayer and compassionate work on behalf of others? Some upcoming events: Wednesday, February 11th, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, is designated by the Church as World Day of the Sick. All are invited to the 8:00 AM Mass. A special message, and a communal Blessing of the Sick will take place, following the Mass. Later, that evening, a bilingual healing service with our Religious Education Students and Families will take place, prior to regular classes, at 6:30 PM, in Church. All are Invited to attend and take part. Wednesday, February 18th, is Ash Wednesday, the Beginning of Lent. VINCENT DE PAUL In the Gospel today, we hear that Jesus would rise very early, before dawn, and go to deserted places to pray. Then He would go out into the neighborhoods to preach and to heal. Please pray for the poor and suffering among us, knowing that you are bringing the love and peace of Jesus to those who live in fear, doubt, loneliness, and dread. Please continue to provide our poor brothers and sisters with clothing, furniture, linens, and household goods. Drop them off at the Blue St. Vincent de Paul box in our parish parking lot, or bring them to the drop off dock at the east side SvdP thrift store. In 2014, this store provided $333,345 worth of these donations (valued at thrift store prices), at no cost, to our neighbors in need. Thank you so much for these donations; they help people... a lot!

So bring your prayerful hearts and busy hands! Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit Going on Now, through February 8th, we have on display, in the Fr. Schuh Hall, the 10 latest Approved Eucharistic Miracles. These include 3 miracles that occurred in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1992, 1994, and 1996. Then Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, S.J., now Pope Francis, had requested the formal investigation of these miracles. The display will be available for viewing after each Mass. It is our hope and prayer that this exhibit will lead to a deeper love and appreciation of the Most Holy Eucharist.
