Global Point Men Remembering Our Legacy, Fulfilling Our Destiny November/December, 2010 Praying About Your Wife's Deliverance Your wife has a past. She has experienced deep hurts. She has yielded to temptation. She has believed certain lies of the enemy. Your wife needs to be delivered from these past hurts, sins, and wounds. You don t have to have all the answers for her. You don t have to understand everything about her past. This is because God does have the answers and He understands your wife s past. He can set her free from all that binds her. This is why it is crucial to commit your wife into His hands and pray for His deliverance in her life. You need to keep in mind that emotional hurts and bondage usually come off one layer at a time. If your wife achieves breakthrough in a certain area, don t be surprised if it surfaces again with greater vengeance. When this happens, cling to God. He will give you the strength that you need. In addition, He will grant deliverance and freedom to your wife. The following prayers can assist you in praying for your wife s deliverance from bondage and emotional wounds. Father, I ask that You would set free from everything that binds her. I pray that she would cry out to Jesus and believe His truth. I plead that the truth of Jesus will set her free (John 8:31-32). Father, I pray that You would deliver from any memory of the past that binds and control her. I ask that she would release any and all memories that bind her. I plead that she would look to You in faith and press on to Your purpose for her life (Philippians 3:13-14). Father, deliver from every evil work. I ask that You would preserve her for Your heavenly kingdom. I plead that You would
receive glory forever through her life (2 Timothy 4:18). Lord God, release Your emotional healing into s life. Set her free from anything that is hindering her relationship to You, to me, and to others. Heal her of everything that is keeping her from being everything that You have created her to be (Psalm 147:3). Father, I pray that will pursue holiness with her entire being. Grant her a hunger for holiness of life. O God, make her holy (Hebrews 12:14). Father, I plead that You would enable to forgive others so that she will not be held captive by unforgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22). Father, I pray that would be sober and diligent because her adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I plead that would resist him, steadfast in faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). I plead that would submit to You and would resist the devil. Make the devil flee from as she seeks You (James 4:7-8). 2 I ask that You would not lead into temptation. I plead with You to deliver her from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Father, place a hedge of protection and blessing around. I ask You to guard her from the attacks and plans of Satan (Job 1:10). Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to destroy the works of the devil. I ask that You would destroy the schemes and plans that Satan has for through her relationship to Jesus Christ. Empower her to do what is righteous rather than what is sinful. Deliver her from being led astray and ensnared by sin (1 John 3:7-8). I plead that You would keep people of perverse heart far from. I ask that would have nothing to do with evil (Psalm 101:4). Lord God, I pray that You would keep from all harm. Guard her coming and going now and forevermore (Psalm 121:8). Father, I do not ask You to remove from the pressures and trials of this world. However, I do ask You protect her from the evil one. O
God, cause her to know that she belongs to You. I plead that You would grant her the power and courage to stand firm in faith against the pressures and trials of this life (John 17:14-15). Father, I ask You to demolish every stronghold, argument, and pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You in s life. I plead that would take captive every thought that she has and make it obedient to Jesus. Teach how to demolish strongholds and to take captive her thoughts and make them obedient to Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Father, I plead that You will keep from the snares that the evil one has laid for her. I pray that the wicked will fall into their own nets while passes on in safety (Psalm 141:9-10). Father, I pray that will not do anything that would give the devil a foothold in her life. Deliver her from allowing any avenue for Satan to work in her life (Ephesians 4:27). Righteous Father, I pray that would be clothed in Your armor so that she can stand strong and firm against Satan s schemes. Help her to put on the belt of truth; 3 cause her to believe Your Word and to build her life on it. I ask that will put on the breastplate of righteousness. Cause her to rest in her right standing with You through Jesus. Empower her to live a righteous life. Grant her peace through the gospel. Let her daily walk in that peace. Strengthen her faith so that she can defeat and destroy all the lies of the evil one. I ask that she would be assured of her salvation and would know that the evil one has no claim on her life. I pray that will have a growing, intimate knowledge of Your Word. Enable her to answer the lies and temptations of the evil one with the Word of God. O God, teach her to pray and cause her to be alert daily (Ephesians 6:11-18). Father, I plead that You would grant me discernment and sensitivity concerning the attacks of the evil one in s life. Teach me how to pray for her concerning this. Show me how I can help her and defend her (Ephesians 6:18). Praying For Your Child s Physical Health And Safety As a parent, you long for your child to be safe and healthy. You labor
to make sure that your child is protected physically. Yet, you cannot always be with your child 24 hours a day. There may be some things that you may have no power over. The good news is that God can be with your child. He has power over all things. Because of this, you can seek God for your child s protection and healing. The Word of God declares, Casting all your care on Him for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). God wants you to pray about your child s health and protection rather than being filled with anxiety, fear, or a sense of helplessness. The following Scripture prayers will enable you to pray concerning this issue of his or her life. Father, You have created. He/She is Your unique creation. I plead that You would protect him/her. I ask You to grant him/her good health. You are the God who made. I now plead with You to sustain and protect him/her (Genesis 1:27, 2:7). Father, I plead that all would be well with. I pray that You would grant him/her a healthy body and soul (3 John 2). Lord, I bless Your name. I pray that would not forget all Your benefits. I ask that You would forgive all his/her iniquities and that 4 You heal him/her of all his/her diseases (Psalm 103:2-3). Father, I pray that would take refuge in You and that he/she would rejoice. Let him/her sing joyful praises forever. O God, spread Your protection over. Let him/her love Your name and be filled with joy (Psalm 5:11). Lord, You are the God of heaven and earth. You alone possess all power in heaven and earth. I ask You to protect by that almighty power. By the power that created all things, secure and guard s life (Psalm 115:3, 135:6). Father, I plead that You would guide and protect. When he/she has to go through deep waters and deep trouble, I ask You to envelop him/her with Your protection. When has to go through rivers of difficulty, deliver him/her from drowning. O God, I ask You to shelter him/her by Your mighty hand (Psalm 43:1-2). Father, I ask that will live in the shelter of the Most High; I plead that will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I pray that
You would be his/her God, Refuge, and Place of safety. I ask that he/she will not be afraid of the terrors of night nor fear the dangers of the day. Deliver from any danger. Send Your angels to protect and guard wherever he/she goes. Father, answer when he/she calls on You. Grant Your presence and protection in trouble; rescue and honor him/her. I plead that You would satisfy him/her with long life and grant him/her Your salvation (Psalm 91). Father, I plead with You to be s shield, protecting him/her all the days of his/her life. Guard s course and protect his/her way (Proverbs 2:7-8). Father, I pray that will never be impressed with his/her own wisdom. I plead that he/she will fear You and turn his/her back on evil. You have promised that this will bring renewed health and vitality. Release this health and vitality into his/her life (Proverbs 3:7-8). O Lord, You alone keep a person safe. You alone can secure a person. I plead that You would keep safe. Secure and protect his/her life (Psalm 4:8). 5 Father, I ask You to help. Rescue him/her from harm. Save him/her from harm and death. Let him/her find shelter in You (Psalm 37:40). Father, I plead that will know that his/her body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I pray that will glorify You in his/her body. I ask that would value the body that You have given him/her. I pray that You would place in him/her a desire to eat healthy foods and to take care of himself/herself (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Father, when suffers, I pray that Your grace would sustain him/her. During these times, build his/her faith, purify his/her life, and grant him/her patience and strength. I pray that You would work all things together for good for (2 Corinthians 4:17-18, 12:9; Romans 8:28). Father, I ask that the harm others intend for that You would turn it into good for him/her. I plead that You would transform any suffering into blessing, any tragedy into triumph in s life (Genesis 50:20).

called woman, because she was taken out of man (Genesis 2:23). Father, You have determined that marriage is the joining of two lives. It is two people being molded into one. Father, cause us to experience the oneness that You have ordained for marriage. Grant us one heart, one mind, and one will. Enable us to honestly and lovingly deal with the differences between us. Amen. My Confession: I will strive with all my being to pursue the oneness God has ordained for marriage. I will labor to become one mind, one heart, one will with her by Your grace and love. Sanctifying Your Wife The Word of God says in Ephesians 5:26, That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word. In this verse, Paul refers primarily to Jesus and His church. Yet, he is also providing an example for husbands. The husband is to sanctify his wife enable her to become a better Christian. You may be wondering, How do I help my wife become a better Christian? The following is a list of practical steps that you might consider in helping sanctify your wife. You can use these or develop your own from them. Meditate on them and see how 7 you might apply them. The key is to take tangible steps to aid your wife in becoming a more mature Christian before God: Be sure that you wife has enough time in her daily schedule for prayer and Bible study. Spend time regularly with her in Bible reading/study and prayer. Encourage her to ask you questions that she may have about the Bible and doctrine. Ask her to memorize a portion of Scripture with you and to hold one another accountable. Make and explain your decisions on the basis of Scripture. Commend her for any and all biblical traits that she possesses (reverence, self-control, discretion, love, joy, peace, etc.) Make every effort to provide her Scriptural reasons when you can t give her what she wants. Be alert to even the smallest indications of spiritual growth and maturity in her and praise her for these. Be sure that you never reprove her other than on scriptural grounds, encouraging her to do the same with you.
Encourage her to be faithful in attendance to church where she can hear the Word preached; set the example by faithfully attending yourself. Provide scripturally based music for her to listen to when in the home or in the car. Encourage other opportunities she may have to study the Scripture. Provide her with Bible study tools.
