Instructions: This packet is broken into two parts. The first part, marked by the, contains fun activities that you can do do before or after conference. The second part, marked by the, contains fun worksheets that you can do during conference. You will need additional planning for the activities to make sure you have the needed supplies. We hope these craft activities will be fun interactive experiences that help keep your children involved with General Conference. What you will need: Christ came to the Earth and taught us the things God wanted us to know. Color and cut out puppet. 2. Fold up feet. 3. Glue around an empty toilet paper roll. 4. Use with boat, water, and Peter to act out the story of Christ walking on the water
Christ taught Peter about Faith when He walked on water. 1. Boat Sides - cut across dotted lines for the boat seat then glue a thin piece of the sides together at each end. Bottom and top should be open. Peter Fold Back along dotted line Glue *Glue boat sides first before moving onto other steps.* 3. Boat Bottom - cut along dotted lines, fold up flaps and glue to the bottom inside of the boat sides. The bottom should be centered between the boat sides. Peter Toilet Paper Roll Puppet 1. Color and cut out puppet. 2. Fold up feet. 3. Glue around an empty toilet paper roll. 4. Use with boat, water, and Jesus to act out the story of Christ walking on the water. Glue 2. Boat Seat - Fold in half along dashed line and glue together. Fold down side pieces along dashed line then glue to the inside of the boat about half way down.
When Christ was on Earth the He taught His disciples. After Christ died Peter taught us the things God wanted us to know. Peter was God s prophet.
Christ told King Benjamin what to teach his people. People came to listen to the prophet in their family tents. Color and cut out these puppets, one for each member of your family. Cut out and glue pictures of your family for the puppets face.
Today we have a prophet here on the Earth, Thomas S. Monson.
Christ teaches President Monson the things God wants us to know. Twice a year we have conference in the conference center. We learn from his prophets how God wants us to be. At General Conference we also hear from the General Authorities. President Eyring I Spy HYMNS When Pres. Eyring was a boy he lived in New Jersey. There were so few members of the Church there that sometimes church was held at his home. He and his two brothers were the only youth. Point to the following items in this picture. Scriptures Bird Rotary Phone When Pres. Uchtdorf was a boy, he lived in Zwickau, Germany. He went to a chapel that had a stained-glass window of the First Vision. He loved to look at it. President Monson I Spy Can you listen to some talks on TV? Draw a picture of what you see and color the tie to match the tie the speaker is wearing. Once when Pres. Monson was a boy he decided to mow the lawn of a widow without being asked. He left her yard looking a lot better. Can you point out the following items in this picture? Remember Pres. Hinckley s Six Be s? They were also messages from Christ. Glue or tape each bee to a closthespin. String a line of yarn or twine across a wall. Add the bee clothespins and clip on drawings, lists, photos, etc of things that remind you of each of the six bees.
