Women s Camp Information Pack DATES Australia s first ever Women s Camp, exploring The Seven Steps to Happiness, will run from Friday the 27 th to Monday the 30 th of September 2013. On the 27 th registration at the camp will begin at 9am and continue until noon, allowing time for camp set-up. The camp will then begin with lunch at 12pm. VENUE The camp is being held at the beautiful Lokananda Retreat Centre in Point Pass, South Australia. Accommodation will be camping, although there are a limited number of dorm rooms also available. If you would like to arrive at the venue on the evening before the camp starts, an extra charge of $60 will apply, this can be paid in cash upon arrival. Vegetarian meals will be provided throughout the camp. Further information about the venue is available at http://www.meditationyoga.com.au/pages/lokananda.html. TRANSPORT Lokananda Retreat Centre is located about an hour and a half north-northeast from Adelaide's city centre and just a little farther from the Adelaide International Airport. Once out of the city (about 20 minutes), the drive is on excellent roads through the vibrant South Australian countryside. The nearest town is Eudunda. Lokananda is on the right side as you enter the town from the south, next to the Point Pass Hotel. A side gate is the entrance. Ample parking is available on the street. For interstate travellers there will be a bus leaving the Adelaide airport for the venue on the Thursday evening before the camp starts and also the Friday morning. Buses will also be available to transport camp goers back to the airport on the Monday evening when the camp finishes. An extra cost of $40 (return) applies. This can be paid in cash on the bus. If you would like to book a place on the bus please indicate on your application form. Please book your flights to arrive before 3pm if arriving on Thursday evening or 9am if arriving on the Friday morning. Please book flights to depart Adelaide after 7pm on the Monday night to allow travel time from the venue. WHAT TO BRING The weather in South Australia in September/October is usually around the low twenties. It can get cold at night and rain is possible so please make sure that you bring warm clothing and bedding as well as a raincoat or umbrella. For practicing Kundalini Yoga it is recommended that you wear white, natural fibre clothing. A head covering is highly recommended and a warm shawl or blanket is advisable. You will need to bring your own yoga mat and/or sheep skin as well as

any props or cushions that you may need. Filtered water will be provided but please bring your own water bottle. For people staying in dorms you will need to bring linen as well as a pillow and a doona or sleeping bag for your bed. For anyone who is camping you will need to bring your own tent and bedding. We ask that all attendees do not bring valuables to the camp. CHILDREN Traditionally Women s Camp is a time for women to come together without the responsibility of children and family. Children are not allowed to attend the camp but it is possible that nursing mothers are able to bring infants with them. Please advice us if this is the case. WHAT TO EXPECT Women s Camp is an opportunity for women from all over Australia to come together in a celebration of yoga and womanhood. Both experienced yogi s and beginners are welcome. It is an opportunity to take a break from the everyday stresses of life and strengthen the bonds of community in a fun, supportive and non-competitive environment. The camp is a not-for-profit event that is run by volunteers. As such we ask that all participants take part in Seva (selfless service) to ensure the smooth running of the camp. Please indicate on your application form which seva team you would like to be part of. REFUND POLICY If you are unable to attend women s camp after booking we need to receive a written request for a refund sent to Balwant Kaur info@kundaliniyoga-sa.com. There is a non-refundable admin fee of $100. All other monies will be refunded prior to 20 th September 2013 after this date there is no refund. Women s Camp Teachers 2013 GURU JIVAN KAUR KHALSA GuruJivan is a Lead Teacher Trainer of Kundalini Yoga in Australia. She studied directly under Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga, and has been teaching for the past 40 years. She spends much of each year guiding new students and mentoring new teachers so that more and more people will have the benefit of this magnificent technology in their lives. GuruJivan is humbled by the opportunity to share this technology with so many people from around the world. Leading workshops, retreats and Teacher Training. Always trusting in the technology of kundalini yoga and keeping the teachings in their purest form as taught by Yogi Bhajan. GuruJivan respects each person's individuality and encourages students to pursue their own goals during practice, while maintaining the highest level in teaching and the practice of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga. SURAJ KAUR KHALSA Suraj completed her teacher training in New Mexico USA under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan. She serves on the KY Asia Teacher Trainer Team, training teachers in China, Taiwan, Israel, Australia and other parts of Asia. She is a KRI Certified Lead Trainer, a Conscious Pregnancy Lead Trainer, and represents Asia on the Global Teachers Council. Suraj means Sun, Beam of Light. Her light reflects her deep love of the teachings of Kundalini Yoga and her belief that they help humanity to heal. BILLIE ATHERSTONE Billie is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and brings to her teaching over thirteen years experience in the healing arts. She has been teaching Yoga since 2003 and is a practicing Kinesiologist and Bowen/Bodywork practitioner. Being a mother of two children along with her background she is passionate about the transformational process of discovering your own truth and beauty and living the life that makes you happy. Billie completed her Teacher Training course with SKY (School of Kundalini Yoga), a renowned school in the UK, and has continued her training in France, India and Australia. She is the co-owner of Kundalini House, in Fitzroy North, which is Melbourne s largest Kundalini Yoga studio. She teaches classes in the studio and is also a practitioner there. She is always in gratitude and awe of the power of Kundalini Yoga to transform the body, mind & spirit. BALWANT KAUR Balwant Kaur discovered Kundalini Yoga in 2001 after trying many other forms of yoga. It was in that first class that she realized something happened to her. The practice touched her in a way she had never felt before. She felt connected to something greater than herself. Balwant became a teacher under GuruJivan Kaur Khalsa in 2004. She says Kundalini Yoga is an almost instantaneous connection to the deepest parts of oneself, facing the reality of all aspects of the self that are clearing and changing. Balwant holds weekly classes and workshops and is passionate about teaching Kundalini Yoga to the wider community.

DIDAR KAUR Didar Kaur (Barb Whitfield) started on her yoga journey when she was 12 has found her true calling when she discovered Kundalini Yoga. She is KRI certified level 1 teacher and will soon complete her KRI level 2 training. She is the owner of the Mackay Kundalini Yoga Healing Centre and Kundalini Books Australia & NZ and has a background in health & wellness spanning over 30 years. Her passion is making Kundalini yoga available to all especially to those with chronic illnesses and diseases. BEANT KAUR Beant Kaur studied Humanities, language teaching and dance at WAAPA. She lived in Berlin Germany for 9 years, meeting her soul's Teacher Shiv Charan Singh at the Yoga Festival in France. Alongside practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga and becoming a mother of 3, she studied Karam Kriya under his guidance, eventually qualifying as a Karam Kriya consultant and a Kundalini Yoga teacher. She was present at the first ever Karam Kriya women's camp in Italy in 2006 - a formative experience. Back in Perth once more, Beant founded Small Blessings Yoga and has now been working with women in the field of Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga as well as open Kundalini Yoga classes and Kundalini for Women for the past 7 years. She says "Working with, learning from, serving women, understanding ever deeper what it is to be a woman, in relationship with myself and others, is my great joy. It is an endless endeavour. I am humbled by what reveals itself as truth, and feel extremely privileged to have a Teacher and teachings, which mirror my true nature back to me. May I in turn be that for others, Sat Nam." SAT SHABAD KAUR Sat Shabad or Jill, has been teaching yoga for more than 20 years. During that time she has taught different styles of yoga, but has always come back to Kundalini Yoga as it feels like coming home. In 2009 she gained her Level 1 Teacher Training certificate with Guru Dass in Brisbane. Over the last 3 years she has been a regular participant of the Asian Kundalini Yoga Festival, including the 21 Stages of Meditation last year. She says Kundalini Yoga is my passion and I teach classes, workshops and run retreats. I am a nurse and work in mental health where I facilitate groups and run yoga classes for patients. I love to learn and give back what I have learnt, Sat Nam. GURUDAYA KAUR KHALSA Gurudaya began the practice of mediation as a teenager and has continued since then to explore different paths and spiritual traditions. She first discovered Kundalini Yoga 9 years ago and has practiced it passionately ever since. She completed her training as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher in Sydney in 2007 and is currently undertaking Level 2 teacher training. As well as working as a Shiatsu Therapist and Kinesiologist, Gurudaya teaches at the Level One Teacher Training in Melbourne as well as regular classes in North Eastern Victoria where she lives. She strives to teach classes which challenge, uplift and awaken students to the deeply rich, inner joy of their authentic Self.
