THIS SUNDAY MORNING Pastor Hawkins will present an Easter sermon entitled "The Resurrected Teacher." The evening service will be a Season of Praise concert with Rachel Park, whose artistry at the piano is exceptional. A glorious Resurrection Day is certainly in store from beginning to end. WELCOME RACHEL PARK A native Korean, Rachel is completing a Doctoral of Musical Arts at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas where she received the Master of Music / Piano Performance degree. Rachel and her husband Ezra, are proud parents of their lovable four-year-old son, Isaac. NEXT SUNDAY Pastor Hawkins will continue his sermon series on The Mission of The Village Church with a message, entitled "In Christ." The evening service will continue the evening series entitled the Name Above All Names on the names and titles of Jesus. The message by Pastor Hawkins is "Who Does Jesus Say that He Is?" Also, we will welcome the music ministry of Kristin Baron from Christ Memorial Church in Holland, MI where she serves as organist.
JOURNEY THROUGH GRIEF, a series to provide help and community to those who have had a recent loss or who feel the need for help dealing with a loss from the past, will begin Monday, April 4, at 2:45 p.m. and run for seven weeks. Grief over the loss of a loved one is a common issue in our community. There is emotional pain as well as confusion because of misinformation or myths about grief. Led by Jim and Judy Mayer of Junonia, the series will examine the physical, emotional and spiritual effects of grief as we walk together on the challenging road to healing and will be held in the Chapel of The Village Church. THE FOOD DRIVE to benefit the South Fort Myers Food Pantry begins Sunday, April 3 and runs through Sunday, April 10. The food pantry is in need of protein-rich items such as canned chicken, roast beef and tuna as well as hearty soups. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please make your check out to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. For every $1 received the food pantry can purchase $6 worth of groceries from the food bank. Thank you in advance for your generosity and ongoing support to feed our neighbors in South Fort Myers.
