21 DAY USUI REIKI WORKBOOK: Exercises to help you connect to Reiki Reiki 1 Usui Reiki Workbook

Table of Contents Introduction... 1 How to Use This Workbook... 2 Week One: The Art of Receiving... 3 Week Two: The 5 Reiki Principles... 18 Week Three: The 7 Chakras... 33 Where to go from here... 48

Introduction T his is not a manual to teach you Reiki. This is a workbook to help you keep track of what you sense while doing self Reiki. Throughout this workbook there are questionnaires for each self-session to help document your progress. This workbook is for Reiki I during the cleansing period. Some people go through an emotional roller coaster during this three week process; this workbook is here to help. Along with questionnaires the workbook has suggested exercises, journal prompts, and meditations to ease the acceptance of the new energy you have just received. Some people like to do Reiki twice a day, once in the morning after waking and once in the evening while going to bed. Because of this, 2 worksheets per day are provided. Each page is marked as morning or evening with individual exercises, prompts, or meditations for the time of day. Each week has a different theme. Week one is about the art of receiving. We start with this instead of the principles to get in the habit of giving yourself Reiki on a daily basis. Week two is an examination of the five Reiki principles. This is to get you thinking about the principles and how you can apply them to your life. How do you define each principle? Week Three is an overview of the Chakras. This is a very basic over view. While traditional Usui Reiki did not teach the Chakras, they are taught now-a-days in Western Reiki. Remember: When in doubt, REIKI! It can do no harm. 1

How to Use This Workbook T here are no wrong ways to use this workbook. You can work through it in order and do each exercise on each work page, morning and evening. You can flip through it and work on the days out of order and just work on what you want. If you only do Reiki at night, then just do the evening pages. If morning Reiki appeals to you then just fill in those pages. If you want to mix and match morning and evening, that s fine, anything goes! Mornings have a very simple question for you to contemplate. What am I looking forward to today? This question is to make you think about what good is in store for you today. This is not for a list of things you have to do, but what you want to do and are excited about. Life is about JOY. After the question is the first exercise for the day. Evenings have a more in-depth questionnaire. This is so you can think about your day and how you dealt with the situations. How often did you turn to Reiki? How often did you feel overwhelmed? How did the day make you feel? If you fall asleep while doing Reiki during the evening, it s all right, just fill out the work page in the morning or when you get the time. All questions asked throughout the workbook are open ended. This is to get you thinking about your answers. It s better to have a nice fleshed out answer that you can go back and look at later than to have just a couple of words. I encourage you to get creative. Use colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc. to decorate this workbook however you like. Draw swirls, random shapes, doodle, and make this workbook completely yours. There is plenty of open space to get your creative groove on. 2

Week One: The Art of Receiving W e start with the art of receiving first. The reason for this is to cultivate the ability to receive. Reiki is a great gift and if we don t feel like we deserve such a gift we might not use it. This week we focus on how we receive. There will be exercises that might make you uncomfortable, but worth it. Stick with it and receiving will become easier and you will feel happier and more open. Throw out the it is better to give than to receive nonsense. To be whole you should be doing both and not focus only on giving. A lot of people tend to throw themselves into giving everything they can to others. Some people feel they do not deserve compassion and dismiss any nice thing others do for them. 3

Morning Receiving What am I looking forward to today? Today we ll start out simple. Today will be the day you start to change your mindset. Go outside and receive the sun, feel the heat, get your vitamin D. The sun does not expect anything in return, that is why this is an excellent first step in receiving. What does it mean to receive? What fears do you have pertaining to allowing yourself to receive? 4

Evening Receiving What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Go outside and receive the light of the moon, the gentle calmness of the night. Breathe in the fresh air, get away from the computer, turn off the phone and just breathe. Air does not expect anything in return. Feel the sensations as you breathe. 5

Morning Receiving What am I looking forward to today? Today find someone to hug. Notice I did not say give a hug to. Learn to receive a hug; it will be more rewarding than simply giving a hug. How does it make you feel when you receive physical affection such as a hug? 6

Evening Receiving What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: So did you hug someone today? Hug yourself. See how it feels to receive a hug from you. Don t judge yourself; don t think well, this is dumb. Hug yourself and give yourself love. What is it that you love about yourself? 7

Morning Receiving What am I looking forward to today? Take the time to do something for yourself. Receive the self-nurturing you need to make yourself happy. If you need a spa day then break out the nail polish or book a facial and don t cancel. If that book that s been sitting on the shelf and has been calling your name the past three weeks isn t started today it might weep. Do something for you and don t worry about what others think. Take time to feel the breeze smell the flowers; drink that glass of premium green tea. Sit on that new meditation cushion and meditate for hours. Receive calmness and peace of mind, relax. 14

Evening Receiving What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Peace and quiet, how does it feel? 15

Week Two: The 5 Reiki Principles Just for today I will not be angry, (Today I am cheerful) Just for today I will not worry, (Today I will live in the moment) Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings, Just for today I will do my work honestly, Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing 18

Morning Just for today I will not be angry. What am I looking forward to today? Today be cheerful. Have a bounce in your step. Be grateful to be alive! If you get angry today it s all right, don t beat yourself up, breathe and release. Don t forget to Reiki any situation that has you frustrated. Remember everyone is a spiritual being having a human experience and we forget that. We just want to be treated kindly, so smile to a stranger it will change your outlook. What is my plan of action for situations that get me fired up? 19

Evening Just for today I will not be angry. What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Think about your day. Were you cheerful? Were you forgiving to people that frustrated you? Did you blow up on anyone? 20

Morning Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings. What am I looking forward to today? Yay! You re awake! What a blessing it is to be alive! I am blessed because: 23

Evening Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings. What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: I am blessed because (no duplicates from this morning): 24

Morning Reiki Principles What am I looking forward to today? Since there are only 5 principles the last 2 days of this week will be contemplating the whole of them. While the Reiki principles are common sense, most people do not think about them every day or realize that they already live them. How do I implement the Reiki principles in my life? Extra exercise: Write out some affirmations for the day and Reiki them for 5-10 minutes whenever you get the chance. See how much better your day feels. 29

Evening Reiki Principles What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: How has it felt using Reiki everyday: 30

Week Three: The 7 Chakras Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel. They are the 7 main energy centers of the human body. They are: Root Chakra: I AM Sacral Chakra: I FEEL Solar Plexus Chakra: I DO Heart Chakra: I LOVE Throat Chakra: I SPEAK Third Eye Chakra: I SEE Crown Chakra: I UNDERSTAND Each chakra corresponds with a color, crystal, music note, scent, etc. For extensive information of the chakras do an internet search, there is much information to be found. We will just touch on very basics, however part of your homework for this week will be researching the chakra of the day and learning how to balance it. I personally like visualizing the colors of each chakra while I Reiki. I also like using crystals. The crystals that go with each chakra are generally of the same color of the chakra. For example, carnelian is used for the sacral chakra, both are orange. Use your intuition for everything. If you feel the need to use yellow for the heart chakra instead of green, go with it, you ll be fixing an imbalance. If you feel the need to use garnet on the third eye, do it. 33

Morning Root Chakra What am I looking forward to today? The root chakra is located at the base of the spine. The color for this chakra is red. Its emotions are protection, foundation, grounded-ness, stability, trust, survival, and financials, and security. If this chakra is out of whack you might be incapable of inner stillness, have low self-esteem, are fearful and self-destructive. Sometime today go outside and stand or walk barefoot on the grass for at least 10 minutes. This helps provide deep grounding. You ll feel better. If you really need grounding think about lying on the grass. Don t worry you don t have to strip, just lie down in the grass and feel the earth beneath you. 34

Evening Root Chakra What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: I am: 35

Morning Heart Chakra What am I looking forward to today? The heart chakra is located where the physical heart is. The heart chakra is green or pink. Whichever color resonates with you is the color you should use, or use both. Emotions attached to the heart chakra are love, joy, inner peace, self-love, forgiveness, compassion, trust, empathy. If your heart is in need of help you might be codependent, fear rejection, and have self-pity. What do I love about ME? 40

Morning Throat Chakra What am I looking forward to today? The throat chakra is located at the physical throat. This chakra is sky blue. Emotions connected to the throat chakra are communication, self-expression of feelings, truth, sharing, and expression. If you re unable to express yourself your throat chakra might be a bit off. Today turn the radio up and sing your heart out! Don t worry if anyone hears you, just sing! 42

Where to go from here T here are many resources on the web for information. A basic search for Reiki will yield quite a hefty amount of websites, as will a search for chakras. Most websites will say the same thing over and over and over. Use your judgment like all things on the web, some sites are good and some are bad. If you are so lucky to live in a city where there are teachers and workshops by all means utilize them. They are worth it. I recommend you continue to perform self Reiki every day indefinitely. I can t say I am perfect on that front; there are some days I just don t feel like it, and that is all right. I don t feel like I ve let myself down on the days that I don t Reiki, it s just a choice I made for the day. I suggest looking into crystals and color therapy. Both are fascinating fields to research and are connected. I use crystals and pieces of colored felt to help with visualizations. They are something physical I can see and it helps me quite a bit. When you feel it is time, then continue with Reiki II certification. Don t rush the process. Get used to this special new energy you ve received. It s going to be with you forever and it is a wonderful gift. Play with it, make it feel loved and be loved by it. There is no harm in using it in everything. Use Reiki for inspiration. Use Reiki to guide you. Use Reiki to teach you. There are no limits in what it can do. Experimentation is a lot of fun and helps you grow in such a big way. The hardest thing you will have to learn with Reiki is to let go of expectations. Let go of results. If you are tied in to a certain desired outcome then you might be disappointed. Reiki works for the highest and greatest good, it is intelligent, and goes where it needs to go and does what it needs to do. Step out of the way of Reiki and things will happen. Questions? Feedback? 14 DAY USUI REIKI 2 WORKBOOK: Exercises to help you connect to Reiki 2 Reiki 2 Usui Reikevel 2 Workbook

Table of Contents Introduction... 1 How to Use This Workbook... 2 Week One: Gratitude... 2 Week Two: The Three Level 2 Symbols... 25 Where to go from here... 47

Introduction T his is not a manual to teach you Reiki. This is a workbook to help you keep track of what you sense while doing self Reiki as well as Reiki on others. Throughout this workbook there are questionnaires for each self-session to help document your progress. This workbook is for Reiki level 2 practitioners learning to work on other people and to expand on self Reiki. Along with questionnaires the workbook has suggested exercises, journal prompts, and meditations to ease the acceptance of the new level of Reiki energy you have just received. Some people like to do Reiki twice a day, once in the morning after waking and once in the evening while going to bed. Because of this, two worksheets per day are provided that you should fill out. Each page is marked as morning or evening with individual exercises, prompts, or meditations for the time of day. The third worksheet provided for the day is for when you Reiki someone else and is optional. However it is a useful tool. Each week has a different theme. Week one is about gratitude. We ll start with this to learn that with gratitude and love we appreciate Reiki more. Week two is about the uses of the three level 2 symbols. These symbols should be imbedded in your brain by the end of the week you ll use them so much. I will not be holding your hand and explaining what each symbol does, that was covered in your Reiki 2 class. These 2 weeks I ll give you exercises to work that Reiki muscle!

Mornings have two very simple questions for you to contemplate. What am I looking forward to today? This question is to make you think about what good is in store for you today. This is not for a list of things you have to do, but what you want to do and are excited about. Life is about JOY. The other question for the morning questionnaire is, what am I grateful for? This question will be posed for all 14 days and not just the first week about gratitude. This is to show you that you have quite a bit to be thankful for. After these two questions is the first exercise for the day. Finally a worksheet is added every day for when/if you Reiki anyone beside yourself and what you did. It s so you can keep track of what you are doing to other people and how you overcame obstacles you might face. This allows you to watch yourself grow. 2

Week One: Gratitude W e start with gratitude first. And before we go anywhere, define what gratitude means to you: We need to be grateful for everything we have, not only the good, but also the bad. Without both we can t grow. This exercise is to fill out the chart noting the good things and bad things you are grateful for being in your live. Ten things that you are not allowed to repeat during the rest of the workbook. 3

Morning Gratitude What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? Today go outside (weather permitting) and hug a tree. YES, hug a tree. While you are at it, give the tree Reiki and thank it for everything it does for us. Thank it for giving us oxygen, thank it for giving us beautiful colors, thank it for its shade, whatever you can think of, thank it. Allow yourself to be embraced by the love of the tree. You ll feel it. Stay with the tree for as long as you wish. If you feel the need or desire then leave it a gift of some sort that you ve given Reiki to. 4

Evening Gratitude What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Meditation: Where ever you are make sure your feet are on the ground. Concentrate on your breathing, breathe comfortably and easily. When you are ready, imagine you are growing roots from your feet and they are going deep deep into the ground. Visualize this slowly, working the roots through all the nooks and crannies of the earth. Once you get to the core, breathe in the earth energies up through your feet, through your body, and out your crown. Keep the energy going until it gets to the sun and wrap it around the sun. As you exhale bring the sun energies down into your body and down your roots. Keep the imagery going as long as you are comfortable. If you don t want to bring the sun energies in because you re afraid it will keep you awake, then send the energy out into the universe and bring back divine energy. Or send the energy to the moon and bring in moon energy instead of sun, whatever works is what you need. 5

Morning Gratitude What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? Today thank a family member. You can verbally thank them. Send them an email of appreciation. Send a hand written letter. Anything you can think of to thank them. Be sure to make it heartfelt, if it s gonna be half-assed why bother? 7

Evening Gratitude What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Who did you thank today and why? What makes that person someone to be grateful for? What s that special something that just fills you with gratitude? 8

Morning Gratitude What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? Yesterday you thanked your body; today thank your mind and brain. Your body gets you places physically, but your mind is what makes you really you. Thank yourself for creativity, intuition, imagination, intelligence, love, etc., anything and everything you can think of that makes you, uniquely you. Silly quirks, mannerisms. Do something to honor these gifts. Write a story, read a book. Take a class. 16

Evening Gratitude What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: List no less than five things that make you, you: 17

Week Two: The 3 Reiki Symbols Cho Ku Rei (CKR): Power Symbol Sei Hei Ki (SHK): Mental-Emotional Symbol Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (HSZSN): Distance Symbol I will alternate each day with a different symbol. Each symbol will be addressed twice, and the last day this week will be all three. By the end of this week you should have at least a little more understanding of what the symbols can do. However your teacher instructed you to use the symbols is the best way for you. I will not be telling you how to invoke the symbols. 25

Morning Cho Ku Rei What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? This morning draw CKR above your body as you lay in bed. Imagine CKR as a 3D shape and visualize it slowly falling into your body. Feel the energy; let it give you a kick-start for the day. What do you need extra energy for? If it s a goal then write the goal down and Reiki the paper, be sure to use CKR to get the power flowing into it. For the rest of the week Reiki the goals or intentions that you have written down. Add other symbols that feel right. 26

Evening Cho Ku Rei What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes Before going to bed tonight stand in the middle of your room. Visualize CKR, with the intention to clean off the day s ickies, and step into the symbol. 27

Morning Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? Think of a time in your life that still has you frustrated. Let s send Reiki to the situation. You can either write down the problem, or visualize it as a tiny swirling ball and place it in your cupped hand. Visualize or draw all three symbols and intend that Reiki helps the situation for the highest and greatest good. When you feel that you are done, release the paper or ball and let go of the problem. Reiki is doing its job, now you need to quit worrying about it. What is my plan of action for situations that frustrate me? 32

Evening Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: If you are still frustrated with the situation that you Reiki-ed this morning, then repeat that exercise again. 33

Morning Sei Hei Ki What am I looking forward to today? What am I grateful for? Is there something that you are holding back on doing that you ve always wanted to do? Reiki the situation with SHK. This will give you the strength of mind and courage to go through with it. Now that you ve Reiki-ed the situation, what is your plan of action to make it happen: 38

Evening Sei Hei Ki What happened today that I was grateful for? Did I use Reiki during the day? Y/N If Yes, why? How do I feel right now (before Reiki)? What do I need to work on? Post Session notes: Have you stepped out on the ledge and started doing what you need to do to get your dream started? What steps have you taken? Flesh out your plan. Reiki the plan. 39

Where to go from here A t this point you should chill. Stay at level 2 for a while and get the hang of it. The next level will always be there waiting for you, but you need to be ready for it. Continue on your studies, learn with other masters. Learn other types of Reiki if you wish. Remember to practice as much as possible. Everything you can think of can be Reiki-ed or benefit from Reiki, you just have to remember to use it. Continue to research and learn all you can about everything. Look up quantum physics, that stuff might blow your mind. Energy is everywhere literally everywhere. Questions? Feedback? Email me at thespiritualityseeker@gmail.com 47
