Introduction Heaven What will Heaven be like? Living in relative prosperity, we may seldom think much about or desire to go to Heaven With life on earth so great, why would anyone want to go to Heaven? But, Jesus has prepared a place for us in Heaven, our eternal home Abraham had faint idea of that eternal home recognizing temporary nature of 2 earthly life Our Eternal Heavenly Prepared By Jesus Joh 14:1 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. Joh 14:2 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. Joh 14:3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be Our Eternal Heavenly Prepared By Jesus Joh 14:4 "And you know the way where I am going." Joh 14:5 Thomas *said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" Joh 14:6 Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. also. 3 4 Abraham Desired To Be In That Heavenly City Made By God Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. Heb 11:9 By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; Abraham Desired To Be In That Heavenly City Made By God Heb 11:10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. 5 6
Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Rev 21:8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Rev 21:24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 7 8 Rev 21:25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; Rev 21:26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; Rev 21:27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Rev 22:15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. 9 10 Heaven A Place of Rest and Peace Rev 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them." 11 Joh 14:3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. Php 1:23 But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; 12
Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, Rev 21:22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. Rev 21:23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 13 14 Rev 22:1 Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, Rev 22:2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Rev 22:3 There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; Rev 22:4 they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. 15 16 Rev 22:5 And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. Rev 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 17 18
Rev 7:10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." Rev 7:15 "For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. Rev 7:16 "They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; Rev 7:17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes." 19 20 Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, Rev 21:11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper. 21 Rev 21:12 It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. Rev 21:13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 22 Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. Rev 21:15 The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall. Rev 21:18 The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. Rev 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 23 24
Am I Preparing Now To Go?
