Page 5 DECEMBER 2010/JANUARY, FEBRUARY 2011 Registrar Reminders Please try to use the newest application available if possible. Applications can be downloaded or printed from the website. Do not forget the Pastor s signature and please include the Pastor s email address. A deposit of half (1/2) of the pilgrim s fee ($60) is required with the application for it to be considered for walk placement. If the application is faxed or emailed to the registrar, please forward the deposit as soon as possible! The balance of the pilgrim s fees are due two (2) weeks before the pilgrim s walk. Questions? Please contact Cathy Howell. From the Dinning Hall All are welcome to set-up and clean-up for each meal. Those who are not a sponsor or a close relative of a pilgrim may serve during the meal. We especially need help on Fridays because most people have to work. If you are retired or are available at meal time on Friday, your help would be appreciated. I always trust God - He will provide the help needed. Please remember that serving in the dining hall requires one to serve quietly and anonymously. If we can serve during the weekend and the pilgrims do not remember us, then we have done our jobs to serve with love and without recognition as Christ served. Questions? Please contact Leroy Leonhardt. God does everything with great compassion, and He asks us to do likewise Take Time. Be Humble. Keep On. Love! Are You Staying Connected to YOUR Community? Page 7 DECEMBER 2010/JANUARY, FEBRUARY 2011 Reunion Groups Update I want to take just a minute and let you know what God has placed on my heart. I know this goes to the Reunion Groups that I have on my list but I hope that through this you will spread the word and we can ignite the passion once again. First, I would like to thank those that brought out Agape Gifts for the Fall Walks they were greatly appreciated! Please remember to bring at least 50 of each gift, especially if it is to go on the dining room tables. Even though we may only have 24 pilgrims, we need to put the Agape Gifts out at each place setting so it appears that everyone is receiving this gift. Most of the time the team will leave theirs, but can take them if they wish. If it is Bed Agape then at least 24 for each walk no matter how many pilgrims we have so that we can use it through that walk season (four (4) walks). At the last Women's Walk for the season (Spring and/or Fall), you should pickup any Agape that may be left-over so that we can start fresh again the next season and not have an over abundance for the next support team to sift through and there is no chance of any food that may attract some furry creatures :-)! (even when in plastic bins - amazing). If you no longer have a reunion group that is making Agape Gifts please let me know. Reunion Groups from my understanding are to help new and old community members that have been on a Walk to Emmaus to continue and support each other on their Fourth Day journey and to prepare Agape Gifts for those that come after us so they will also know the love of Christ through those gifts and know that even though we may not know them they are part of this community and are loved just as each of us were on our walks. There are many ways we can show Agape Love of which we are called to do and one is by making Agape Gifts for the weekend. I truly do not know what else to do but keep pleading and asking and requesting and begging to get Agape Gifts for these upcoming walks and to encourage new and old members to join a Reunion Group because we all know we can't do this alone. I know everyone is busy and there is so much going on with your own lives these days but we should never be too busy to show the love of Christ to others especially those that we don't know. I pray that we can once again rise up and show our love for Christ through our Agape Gifts and by coming out and serving behind the scenes and attending Candlelight. DeColores my brothers and sisters in Christ! Cindy Heard Please visit our website for more information about our community: http://emmanuelemmaus.com/ Serving others blesses the server more than the receiver. How will YOU be the hands and feet of Christ? You can be the hands and feet of Christ by volunteering during a walk weekend in any of our community s various work areas please see the list of Board members for a list of all work areas. EMMANUEL EMMAUS Camp Weekend Fees Pilgrims $120 Team members $120 Music & Clergy $100 until fifth (5th) time serving, then $50 Weekend Volunteers, Support, and Board Representative $50 General camp fees: $5 per night $5 per meal Page 8 What is a Consecration Service? We have two Community Gatherings/Consecration Services a year. One in the Spring and one in the Fall. The purpose of these is to declare the Spring & Falls Walks holy to give them to God. The team dedicates their service as team members and we as a community dedicate our service to pray for, volunteer behind the scenes, make agape gifts, and/or donate drinks and goods for these Walks. This is a very special service with serious dedications made to God. Everyone is invited to attend. Of course, bring a heavy snack and something to drink for the fellowship time after the service! Here are some ways YOU can help during a Walk or Flight/Journey Come to work in the kitchen or dinning room for any meal Stay after the meal to help clean-up and set-up for the next meal Sign-up for the 72-Hour Prayer Vigil Write letters to the pilgrims Supply Agape Gifts for all including Snack Table Agape Donate gently used Christian books for the Book Table.
