PERSONAL WORD SUNDAY, JUNE 14, 2015 8:45 & 11 AM Sanctuary The 8:45 AM worship service is broadcast via 15-minute delay from 9-10 AM Sundays on WAPI-1070 AM. SERMON Rev. Brian Erickson MUSIC 8:45 & 11:00 AM Sanctuary Choir Trinity Orchestra MINISTER ON CALL Bobby Scales, 746-4547 Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. It kills an estimated 655,000 people each year, most of them children under 5 and pregnant women. Transmitted through the bite of a female anopheles mosquito, malaria is a parasite that initially causes fever, vomiting and joint pain. Left untreated, its symptoms progress to convulsions, organ failure and death. Yet malaria is 100% preventable, treatable and beatable! The work of Imagine No Malaria and its partners is already making a difference. The World Health Organization reports that malaria-related deaths have been reduced by almost 50% since 2007. Imagine No Malaria is an extraordinary effort of the people of The United Methodist Church, putting faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria in Africa, especially the death of a child or a mother. As a life-saving ministry, Imagine No Malaria aims to raise $75 million to empower the people of Africa to overcome malaria s burden. Imagine No Malaria works in partnership with the United Nations Foundation and the Global Fund. We believe our commitment to follow Jesus mandates that we do our best to help eradicate this problem. Trinity is joining with other churches in the North Alabama Conference to raise $1 million dollars by June, 2017. Trinity s total commitment to this goal is $30,000. During the month of June, 2015, we are inviting Trinity members to participate in a matching campaign. Every dollar given will be matched up to $7,500, to meet our goal of $15,000 for 2015. 8:45 & 11:00 AM WESLEY HALL Rev.
