This year our family will open the Bible. How many this year s do you have? What if our Lord put us off they way we have Him? Praise God, we have been redeemed through His grace. I wonder what amazing things might be around the corner as you move forward in your faith-walk and extend a hand in Christian fellowship. We invite and encourage you to come and be involved. Make this year YOUR year! And you will find Him, wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and there were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-14 Save the Date! Christmas Program December 2, 2011 Drop off at 6:15 p.m. Program starts at 6:30 pm. Pre-Enrollment is Here! Pre-enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year begins in January. This process is vital for us to better understand the needs of the Academy and community. Without an early enrollment process, we cannot hire staff and determine which grades will be offered and how many rooms will be available for education. 1. You will be asked to pay your enrollment fee and first month s tuition. 2. You will be asked to fill out enrollment paperwork. 3. You will be guaranteed a position within the grade for which you are enrolling. 4. Enrollment paperwork is due by January 31 st. We will be begin open enrollment February 1 st. Any financial arrangement can be made by simply communicating with your Academy Principal. 5. A tuition rate increase is being considered in the elementary grades. Money collected will be based on this year s (2011-2012) tuition rates. If tuition does go up, your pre-enrollment guarantees your old tuition rate all school year. Teacher Gift We have for several years, collected money towards gifts we presented to teachers in an effort to make things easy for parents. Remaining cognizant of how much money we ask for, and at what times of the year, we will not be collecting this year. Instead to show how much the church, parents and the community appreciate our amazing staff, the Academy has purchased a small gift that will be presented at the Staff Christmas Party. We encourage you to please allow this gift to stand in place of anything you might feel compelled to buy. We work hard throughout the year to make sure staff know how valued they are using many different avenues. We wish your family a very Merry Christmas, and invite you to use the teacher gift money on someone in need. We anticipate revisiting teacher gift giving next year, but have opted this year for a simple gift that already has your name on it.
It is the time of year when we become immersed in shopping, details and a party atmosphere. This time should also be used as an opportunity to prepare the way for the coming of our Lord and Savior. What is Advent? The Church divides the year into different seasons that emphasize the life of Christ and the life of the Church. Beginning on Sunday, November 27th 2011, we will enter the season of the Church year called Advent. Advent is a four-week season of preparation and anticipation leading up to Christmas, on December 25th, 2011 and continuing to Epiphany January 6th, 2012. The focus of Advent is two-fold. On the one hand, we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world as both God and man so that our sins might be forgiven. On the other hand, we anticipate the day when Jesus will return to Earth and bring an end to this world. Those will be scary days, but we can look forward to the end of the world with hope because through faith in Jesus, the end of this world will mean the beginning of a new life with Christ for eternity. Advent, then, is a time for us to repent and believe. Knowing that Jesus was born to forgive our sins, we repent (admit our failures to God) and believe that we are forgiven because of the death and resurrection of Jesus on our behalf. Also, knowing that Jesus is coming back, we repent and believe that when He returns, He will give us eternal life.
