Through exploring the parables of the Lost Sheep and Coin, adults will identify ways to welcome all people to their congregation. Adults will explore Jesus parable of the Dishonest Manager and consider connections between their use of earthly treasures and relationships with God and neighbor. Adults will recall Jesus story of the rich man and Lazarus and grow their commitment to being advocates for people living in poverty. Adults will heed the call in 2 Timothy to remain faithful to Christ and the gospel even when they are discouraged. Adults will examine Paul s words to Timothy and be encouraged to proclaim a message of gospel truth. In studying Jesus parable of the Persistent Widow, adults will commit to persistent prayer. Learning from the humble tax collector, adults will deepen trust in God s mercy rather than in their own achievements. Adults will consider the meaning of holiness in Leviticus 19 and discover how they can live holy lives today. In the transfiguration of Christ, adults will explore how Jesus is the Christ for them.

Adults will explore God s covenant with Abram and discern the meaning of God s blessing in their lives as individuals and as the church. Adults will examine how God leads Moses to respond to the people s cry for water and wrestle with what it means to trust and follow God. In Samuel s anointing of David, adults will consider God s choice of an unexpected leader and commit to supporting God s leaders today. Adults will recall the story of Jesus raising Lazarus and give thanks that Jesus is with them when they grieve the death of a loved one. In Jesus entry into Jerusalem and his approaching death, adults will identify the connection between Jesus and power in God s kingdom. Session 7 April 16, 2017 Easter Matthew 28:1 10 Session 8 April 23, 2017 Easter 2 John 20:19 31 Session 9 April 30, 2017 Easter 3 Luke 24:13 35 Session 10 May 7, 2017 Easter 4 Psalm 23 Discovering the empty tomb with the women, adults will plan how to make the resurrection known to others. Believing with Thomas that Jesus is my Lord and my God, adults will explore Christ s call to mission today. The disciples encounter with Jesus in Luke 24 will encourage adults to express how they experience Jesus to others. After reflecting on God as shepherd and host, participants will explore implications of following, trusting, and dwelling in God.

Adults will celebrate the power of God s ever-creating Spirit, as Paul did as he reached out to the people of Athens. Adults will explore the petitions in Jesus prayer for his followers and commit to praying for Jesus followers today.

Adults will examine the powers that cause separation and affirm that nothing will prevail against God s love. In the feeding of the five thousand, adults will celebrate that everything comes from God and plan ways to be faithful disciples.
