TRESTLEBOARD CHICO NILE CLUB Fourteen members of Chico Nile Club, and five guests, enjoyed a delicious luncheon of lasagna, salad, garlic bread and pumpkin pie, at their meeting on December 12. But what special guests they were - Menzaleh Temple Queen Lynda Languasco, accompanied by her Princess Recorder, Millie Dunn, P.Q., and Princess Marilyn Moncado, Aide to Princess Royal. This was rather a surprise visit by the Queen, and not her Official Visit, and she indicated she may be back in February, since she enjoys our Club. It was good to see Pr. Karen Haldorson, whose husband had arranged to bring her to the meeting in their specially equipped motor home. A "get well' card was signed to be sent to Pr. Marilyn Hoobler, who is recuperating from a broken hip. Prior to lunch, there were three members at the sewing machines and four quilters, working diligently on projects for the Shriners Hospital. Pr. Mary Louise Hunter, our Sewing Chairman, later reported that a gown and a pair of shorts had been completed, and Pr. Peggy Glander had donated seven stuffed toys and two pillow cases for the hospital. Pr. Jan Smith came in briefly to thank all of the women who had contributed items for the Shrine Bazaar in Sacramento early in December, which she said was again successful. We will meet for sewing (and quilt-tying) again on January 9, and hope that those members whose holiday commitments kept them away in December, will be able to join us. They welcome volunteers to serve for 1 or 2 hours, and if interested in this aspect, please contact Marie Worthy, Worthy Matron at 343-7878 for the details. Below is a list of needs and we ask that they be brought to a chapter meeting, or call Sister Marie to arrange for pick up.
