The Bible itself, especially the book of Acts, gives glimpses into what awaited the church. Persecution, with the suffering it brings, is also clearly a present reality in the life of the Christians to whom Peter is writing. In addition, because Adventist schools are an ongoing ministry to students, tithe funds are used to subsidize selected administrative salaries and a percentage of salaries for teachers. Tithe is not used to purchase property, build churches or fund the general operations of churches or schools. Special Offerings are collected by the Conference to support specific ministries (i.e., Adventist Health, ADRA, Adventist World Radio, Christian Services for the Blind & Hearing Impaired, etc.) and general worldwide work of the church (i.e., Christian education, World Division appropriations and special projects, etc.). Local Combined Church Budget (Offerings) - These monies will be used to help support our Children, Youth & Young Adults pursuing Christian Education, Sabbath School Ministries. Also supports local church ministries to include Women's, Health, Prison, Fellowship, Outreach, Music, and Benevolence Assistance as well as the ongoing church upkeep and maintenance.
