Monthly Newsletter two One church meeting in two venues Cuffley & Potters Bar Welcome to the December edition of our newsletter. Christmas Services In addition to our usual December Sunday services, there have been some additional events organised. These include at the Cuffley Campus - a Christmas Concert on Saturday 16 th December, a Carol Service at 6pm on Sunday 24 th December and a Christmas day service on Monday 25 th December. Some details are included in this newsletter, other information is available on separate leaflets. Thank You In October Jennie Coomes organised an event to raise funds for Kidney Research. The total raised was 1,000. Thank you to all those who helped with the event and contributed financialy. Members Meetings These are held at our Cuffley Campus at 8.00 pm: Thursday 7 th December 2017 Thursday 1 st March 2018 Thursday 7 th June Thursday 6 th December Our AGM is on: Sunday 23 rd September after the morning service at Cuffley. For those thinking about becoming a church member we run a CLASS 101 Church Membership Course See Phillip Coffin or Matt Archer for more details. Pauline Ezigibo has completed this course. We will be recommending her for membership at the next members meeting. Life Church Web Site: www.lifechurch.uk.com

Sunday Services Life Church meets at two different campuses each Sunday. The details of these services are below: potters bar campus 10.00 am (Coffee from 9.45 am) Oakmere Community Centre Fetherstone Close, Potters Bar, EN6 5NS cuffley campus 11.00 am (Coffee from 10.30 am) King James Avenue, Cuffley, EN6 4LN Please let Phillip or Matt know if you would like to be baptised. Sunday 7 th Jan At our Cuffley Campus. All are welcome! Candles & Message As Christmas is approaching, we remember Jesus coming as the light of the world. This is great news to share with our neighbours! From Sunday 3 rd December, there will be packs available containing 10 candles with a simple Christmas message. These candles are for you to take and distribute amongst your friends and neighbours, or to simply leave on your neighbour s doorstep. A donation pot will be available for your contributions to the cost of this. With Sadness Bayly Spencer Bayly was admitted to Barnet General Hospital on Saturday November 25 in the late evening. It was hoped to eventually transfer him to Isobel Hospice, but he was too weak to move there. However, palliative nurses took care of him extremely well at Barnet, and he was made to feel comfortable and pain free. His health continued to deteriorate, so with sadness we announce that he died peacefully last Wednesday evening. Bayly will be sadly missed at Life Church. He fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer, surviving much longer than the doctors expected. There will be, at a further date, a service of thanksgiving at Life Church, which we will keep you

informed about. Please pray for Mary and all those touched by Bayly s death. Sadie Stock - Update Due to further investigations into the cause of Sadie s death, her funeral and thanksgiving service will not take place until the new year. We will let you know as soon as we can confirm a date for this. Please continue to pray for Sadie s family at this sad time, especially her husband James, young son Joshua, and baby Bradley. Pray also for her mum Melinda and other members of her family as they make plans for the future. During the advent period, beginning Sunday 3 rd December, we will be collecting money for Sadie s children. The money will be designated especially to provide for Joshua and Bradley. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please use one of the marked envelopes available by the main entrance doors. Please put your cheque (payable to Life Church ) or cash inside the envelope and then either place it the Sunday service collection bowl or the plate in the foyer. Many thanks in advance for your generosity! Previous Group Material This material is still available for download from the church website. It is based on the theme of last Easter s Spiring Harvest. This material was used during our month of Prayer and Fasting in October. It is still on the church web site available for download should you wish to make use of it. We re coming near the end of our first term and Sowing Seeds and we wanted to give you an update on how it has been going. For the first term we have had six children on roll and have been running sessions 3 days a week. A number of other families have come to visit us and have been really impressed by what they have seen; the majority of these families have also signed their children up and they will be starting at different points in 2018. Currently, we are relying on children s fees as well as donations so we have been looking into a variety of fundraising ideas. We have found a great website called Easy Fundraising which allows people to do their regular shopping online and a donation is sent to Sowing Seeds Preschool through the website. We would really appreciate if you could sign up to the website: www.easyfundraising.org.uk and search for Sowing Seeds Pre-School as this is a great way for you to support us at no extra cost. Thank you for your continued support and keep spreading the word about us! http://sowingseedspreschool.co.uk/
