ANNOUNCEMENTS Zion would like to welcome and thank Justin Yoder for sharing his musical talents with us this morning. Sunday, May 6 following the worship time, we will be having Family Service Sunday. For all of you who have wanted to do some volunteer time at the Material Resource Center but have been unable to get there due to schedules, we are once again bringing the MRC to Zion. This is a whole family time of teaching and learning about service, in the atmosphere of working alongside our Zion brothers and sisters. Interested in joining a New Member/Baptism Exploration class? Eastern District Spring Meeting will be Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Zion. Lunch is provided. If you have volunteered to deliver a Somebunny Cares gift, please be sure to pick them up in Pastor Beth s office. Zion is looking for an Everence Stewardship Advocate. This person assists the congregation in using Everence resources, helps others connect to Everence services, and shares information about Everence with the congregation. If you are interested in integrating faith and stewardship principles with the needs of our congregation and its members, contact Tim Groff for more information. Annual Zion Golf Outing: All levels of golfers, both men and women, are encouraged and invited to play on Saturday, June 2 at Butter Valley Golf Port in Bally. Cost of the event is $51.00. YOUTH NEWS Youth Auction We want to extend our deepest gratitude for all the support of last week s auction and lasagna lunch. To everyone who generously donated their time in many ways making lasagna, helping to serve the lunch, set up and clean up, donating items, prayer support, attending the auction, monetary donations, and bidding on the items we thank you very much! We extend a special thanks to our anonymous donor who generously matched the prices bid on youth/advisor items and for our auctioneer, Todd Umbenhauer, for coming out of retirement and who did a fantastic job! We are thrilled to announce we raised just over $20,000!! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEWS Mark your calendars for this year s VBS ultimate pep rally, GAME ON! July 16-19, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Kids who ve completed preschool through 5th grade will join God s team, train hard, celebrate salvation, and encourage one another. Registration opens on June 24. Volunteer to help with VBS GAME ON! To make this year a big win, we need lesson leaders, recreation leaders, group escorts, and craft and snack helpers. Talk to Judy Francis or Jenn Landis to volunteer and don t forget to get your child clearances. Parents of high school and college graduates, we would like to feature the 2018 graduates in the June issue of the Joyful Noiz. April Projects of the Month Mennonite Disaster Service - MDS is very active both regionally and nationally restoring hope to those displaced or affected by natural disasters and other causes.
