The Keefauver Reunion 2009 Area and westward. We look forward to building a new and lasting relationship with this Keefauver family line. Friday evening people were arriving and getting checked in. Later that evening we all met at the pavilion for dinner and fellowship. After dinner we all gathered in the kitchen to play music; we all had a great time. Saturday morning Elbert Keefauver cooked his famous pancake breakfast and we all enjoyed each other s company over pancakes, eggs and coffee. That afternoon several special events were held; one for the little girls who dressed up for a dance event. They all received special prizes. The ladies gathered for a Red Hat Society party and Iris Keefauver was chosen as the Red Hat Society Queen. Then we all gathered to roast Paul Keefauver for his 80th birthday. Paul s daughter Kim presented the event; it was hilarious. Saturday night we all gathered at the river for the family sing along. The instruments came out of their cases and we circled the wagons, armed with guitars, banjos, mandolins, violins, harmonicas and base guitars; everyone played a special number. It was great fun and entertainment. We have a gifted and talented family. Red Hat Society Family News Elbert Keefauver family Family News Some of our family members joined a group of more than 3,000 protesters to express their dissatisfaction with the way our current government is running the country. It was estimated that more than 3,000 dissatisfied citizens turned out to protest as President Obama passed by. However, they were not allowed anywhere near the Presidents motorcade. Cheryl Morris and Paul Keefauver a Korean war vet and bronze Page 2 star winner is seen holding a sign asking where is the government I fought for? Apparently there was no news coverage of this event by any of the local news papers or news stations. This tends to make one wonder why? Is the government now suppressing negative views about the way things are done? Someone once said That if you don t stand for something you will fall for anything. Thank you guys for taking your stand. Paul Keefauver family Brenda and Robert Zable Manny and Iris Keefauver The Keefauver Family News

Please Pray For Those Family Members Who Are In Uniform Pray Psalm 91 for Them Daily World War 1 soldiers of the 91st Brigade agreed to recite the 91st Psalm daily. The 91st Brigade was engaged in three of the bloodiest battles of WWI ; Chateau Thierry, Belle Wood, and the Argonne. While other units similarly engaged had up to 90% casualties, the 91st Brigade did not suffer a single combat related casualty. The 91st Psalm is considered the Warriors Prayer. It fills the heart, mind, and spirit of a warrior with the love and protection of his Heavenly Father. We should all read the 91st Psalm every morning when we awaken and before we close our eyes for the night. An interesting fact according to some sources is that this story was told by the father of James Stewart who is a distant cousin to the Keefauver family. 1. Levi A Keefauver-US Army Psalm 91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. His books are excellent history, affording a detailed account of what solders on both sides endured during the Civil War. Reunion Property The family has been talking about the purchase of a parcel of land some where within fifty miles of Longmont for future reunions. There are several properties available all under 50,000. If we all pitched in a little for a down payment we could share the payment for about 10 or 15 dollars a month per family. Lets put on our thinking caps and see if we all can come up with something that will work. If some one in the family is able to and wants to make a Keefauver Cemetery Project Up-Date The Keefauver Cemetery is located near Jonesborough Tennessee. It is still is need of repair. The grave stones are being trampled by cattle and have been for years. Basically it needs a new fence. The cost of building a new fence is minimal and will help to preserve this historic family site.
