Dear prayer partners, I can t thank you enough for your willingness to pray for us while we are in Brazil. This specific journey we are about to take has been prayed about for almost a year now. I know that God wants to move in mighty ways in our lives while in Brazil, and I know He wants to use our journey in Brazil to impact His Kingdom in Weatherford and all over the world. This year will be much different than our previous trips to Brazil. Our primary objectives this year are to learn to be disciples and to make disciples. We will still be working with the Missionary Community Church of Jundaí, but this year we are partnering with their sister church in Salvador, Brazil, doing work in their area. In addition, churches from all over Brazil are sending teams to come learn what it means to be a disciple, and to make disciples. There are three parts to our trip. 1) Training 2) Rural Evangelism 3) Urban Evangelism. We will be training in Salvador for four days, learning from the Word and how to share the Gospel with others. When we are done with the training we will head four hours away from Salvador to a small town called Taperoá. In Taperoá we will be talking to people about Christ, with the purpose of starting a church. Currently there are about 20 believers who meet regularly in the town of 20,000 people. We will be sharing Christ with people on the street, in parks, and in their homes. After four days in Taperoá we will head back to Salvador to work with the church there. We will be doing much the same thing in Salvador as in Taperoá, but in a much different setting. We will be going through poor neighborhoods as well as more wealthy neighborhoods, sharing the Gospel of Christ.
In this guide you will find prayer requests submitted by our team members and leaders. We hope that you will share in our concerns and pray as the Holy Spirit leads you. You will also find a general schedule attached so you will know what we are doing each day and be able to pray for us more specifically.
