Dear prayer partners, I can t thank you enough for your willingness to pray for us while we are in Brazil. This specific journey we are about to take has been prayed about for almost a year now. I know that God wants to move in mighty ways in our lives while in Brazil, and I know He wants to use our journey in Brazil to impact His Kingdom in Weatherford and all over the world. This year will be much different than our previous trips to Brazil. Our primary objectives this year are to learn to be disciples and to make disciples. We will still be working with the Missionary Community Church of Jundaí, but this year we are partnering with their sister church in Salvador, Brazil, doing work in their area. In addition, churches from all over Brazil are sending teams to come learn what it means to be a disciple, and to make disciples. There are three parts to our trip. 1) Training 2) Rural Evangelism 3) Urban Evangelism. We will be training in Salvador for four days, learning from the Word and how to share the Gospel with others. When we are done with the training we will head four hours away from Salvador to a small town called Taperoá. In Taperoá we will be talking to people about Christ, with the purpose of starting a church. Currently there are about 20 believers who meet regularly in the town of 20,000 people. We will be sharing Christ with people on the street, in parks, and in their homes. After four days in Taperoá we will head back to Salvador to work with the church there. We will be doing much the same thing in Salvador as in Taperoá, but in a much different setting. We will be going through poor neighborhoods as well as more wealthy neighborhoods, sharing the Gospel of Christ.

In this guide you will find prayer requests submitted by our team members and leaders. We hope that you will share in our concerns and pray as the Holy Spirit leads you. You will also find a general schedule attached so you will know what we are doing each day and be able to pray for us more specifically. I feel like God may be preparing me to hear something new from Him. Pray that He will prepare me for the work, that I will be able to hear His voice clearly in Brazil. Meagan Tevebaugh, North Side Mission Participant Please pray for our team members Randy Chunn, Matthew Gassett, Michele Groh, Caleb Lain, Morgan McKelvey, Meagan Tevebaugh, and John David White. Please pray for the Brazilian pastors who are leading us Tony Felicio of Jundaí Carlos Sá and Jacemã Doria of Salvador Please pray for my personal walk with Christ, so that the passion for Him in my life can grow. Matthew Gassett, North Side Mission Participant Sunday, July 18: Travel Pray for our safety and protection. Pray that our families will be safe and well while we are gone. Pray that God draws us closer to Him and to one another. Monday, July 19: Travel, meet Brazilian teams, begin training Pray that we would not be anxious about the unknown, but excited about new things God is going to show us. Pray that God would give us peace and comfort with the many Brazilians around us, despite the language and culture barriers.

I pray that we will be one in Christ. That God would make us grow together as a group, that we would have clarity and vision. Paulo Nobre, Brazilian Mission Participant Tuesday, July 20 Thursday, July 22: Training Pray that our hearts would be open to hearing what the Holy Spirit wants to say to us. Pray for the Brazilian pastors who will be teaching us, that God would give them words and speak through them. Pray that God would give us the wisdom and awareness to encourage each other and the Brazilians we are training with. Pray that I give everything up for the Lord, so that His will can be done through me Morgan McKelvey, North Side Mission Participant Friday, July 23: Travel, Evangelism Pray that God would again give us safety in travel as we spend 4 hours going to Taperoá. Pray that God would set up divine appointments for us and begin to prepare the hearts of those we will be speaking with. Pray for the Believers in Taperoá that they would be ready to receive us. I pray first of all that the Lord finds in us an open heart to all that He wants to do in these days. I pray for the lives of those we will be sharing with in Salvador and Taperoá.. Leni Costa e Silva, Brazilian Team Leader, Salvador

Saturday, July 24 Sunday, July 25: Training, Evangelism Pray that we would know without a doubt that we are being used by God. Pray that God would help us put aside our own sense of inadequacy and know His power. Pray for our translators, that God would give them clarity of thought. Pray that God would give us words to say as we share the Good News. Pray that the Lord would use what we do to strengthen the small group of Believers that meet together in Taperoá. I pray that our God would do all He has planned for us and for those who will hear us. I want to see God do it, not us. I also pray for the Believers in Taperoá that the Lord would strengthen them. Tony Felicio, Pastor, Jundiaí Monday, July 26: Rest, travel Pray that we will be able to reflect on how God has used us in the past week. Pray that we will have a good time of fellowship with one another. Pray that God would renew our strength. Pray for travel safety as we return to Salvador. Pray that I will stay focused on God, and not get sidetracked with anything else on this trip. Pray for boldness to share the Gospel. JD White, North Side Mission Participant Tuesday, July 27 Wednesday, July 28: Training, Evangelism Pray once again that God would help us renew our efforts and focus on what He wants us to do. Pray for the church in Salvador, that God would strengthen them and build them up through our work there. Pray that the Lord would guide our steps as we walk down the streets and go to parks to share the Gospel.

My prayer is that we will get out of the way and that God will be able to work Randy Chunn, North Side Mission Participant Thursday, July 29: Wrap up, Travel Pray that we would be able to reflect on what God has taught us and celebrate what He has done through us. Pray for safety and protection in travel. I pray that God will work beyond any of our comprehension both in Brazil and back home in the lives of our family and friends Michele Groh, North Side Mission Participant Friday, July 30: arrive home Please continue to pray for us as we share what God has done with our friends and family. Pray that God s light in us would not grow dim, but that He would continue to shine! I appreciate all of your prayers and support. I m excited about what God will do in Brazil and in our own lives. More than ever before I feel like He is preparing us for something big. The trouble with that is that His refining is not a comfortable process. Thank you for praying us through this. We look forward to sharing with you when we return. Pray on! Caleb Lain and the 2010 Brazil Team *If you would like to keep up with us daily you may follow us on twitter @nsbcbrazil.
