Chain Reference Study Program This study program is very simple to use but a most powerful tool in teaching the Gospel to others. Several years ago, our preacher presented a series of lessons to our ladies' class. The purpose of the class was to teach us how we could sit down with one or two individuals and teach them the "Steps of Salvation" plus going a little further into the actual "Worship" services etc. I have found over the years that the beauty of this knowledge has given me the confidence to be able to do the following with God's help. The very first thing that must be done is to set up a Bible that is to be used for the study. A copy of the following Chain Reference scripture list should be glued in the Bible. Usually there is a blank page in the front or the back. Please notice that the form is sized for 1/2 average paper and also to fit most Bibles. You can print 2 copies on 1 sheet of paper that measures 8 ½ x 11 as below. Just in case that you don t recognize the Books of the Bible or the form doesn t print out very well, I have included an abbreviation chart below. When using this Reference Guide, Start from the top left, go down, then go to the center top, go down then go back up to the right top and down. All Chain References will be lined up in this order. The Chain Reference Study actually will stop after Church Important. I have added the other topics to this form over the past years as to have scriptures for close references. You may find that students will also have questions pertaining to these subjects. Follow through with all the Scriptures. This can possibly take more than just one sitting to study all topics. Be sure that you, yourself, understand each topic and are able to answer any questions the student may have. If ever you are uncertain, just let them know that the question was a good one and you will get back with them on that one next study period. Be sure to note this and find your explanation for them.

When the study starts, both you and the student just have a bible each if at all possible. Have them read the 1 st set of scriptures, ask them 1-3 question about what they just read to see if they understand it. Be open for discussion. You will then follow through with the next reference. Repeat as above for all scriptures.

Teaching different types of groups: 1) Show and explain this system to others so that they can also set up their Bible and feel secure in studying the Scriptures with others. This can be a good project for a Ladies Class. 2) Guides one in a study with a one-on-one study in teaching the Plan of Salvation. Men or Women have used this. 3) Teaching material for a New Converts Class. 4) This is the sweetest...i have used this system many years in teaching the 5 th & 6 th grade students in our congregation. I really feel that it was a start into Christianity for many of them. * If possible, each child should get their very own Bible. * The hope was that the child would have the feeling of comfort when reading and studying in his own special Bible. I even have them write in the margins when necessary. They are always encouraged to bring it to class with them. * We would set it up with tabs. These are just markers on the edge of the pages to help them find the Books better. * I would give each child a copy of the small Chain Reference Study Scriptures to place on a blank page somewhere in their Bible. If you can get some solid sheet label adhesive paper and run several of these charts off on them they work very well. Just peel and stick. Or you can just glue it in. * Now you are ready to start your Chain Reference Study. * I add some of the following teaching aids for this age group. * Use the blackboard for drawing quick sketches and to make a point. * Subject Baptism: Let them see where one is actually baptized. * Subject Lord s Supper: Show them the actual bread and juice and explain. * Subject singing: Show them how songbooks are laid out. * Subject contributions: Encourage them to save for the Lord s Day. * Subject Prayer: Explain how men and women must pray. * Subject Attendance: Study scriptures here * Subject Study: Study scriptures here also

END NOTE! Two copies of the chain references are listed below. The smaller one fits into most study bibles while the larger one is easier to read, make notes on etc.

These scriptures are intended for a more in-depth study of the subjects previously offered. I hope you find them useful. "ACTS of WORSHIP" and Beyond Index: Introduction Is the Church important? Lord's Supper Contribution Attendance Study Prayer Singing Lord's Day Introduction The following study is designed to help us learn what the Bible teaches on how and what we are to do when we come together as a Church to worship Him. There will be Scriptures quoted and then references for further study scriptures to use for all underlined words. Is The Church Important?
