H e n d e r s o n H i l l s Week of March 16, 2003, Vol. 8, No. 11 The Purpose Driv iven Life Study We hope you are enjoying the book The Purpose Driven Life. This past week we learned that one of our purposes in life is to live a life that is full of worship. God created us for His pleasure. Worshipping Him is how we please Him. "This is the secret of a lifestyle of worship-- doing everything as if you were doing it for Jesus." If you have not begun the study, it s not too late. We have a limited number of books available in the lobby of the Worship Center and also in the back of the North Building. The cost for the book is only $12. You might even think about picking up a couple of copies for a friend or relative! Here are some suggestions to help you apply the purposes to your life: Personally apply the truths - We are providing questions related to each days devotion to help you personally apply the truths that you are learning. You can find these questions on the church web site, www.hhbc.com, located on the Purpose Driven Life page and also on the tables where the book is being sold. Get involved in a FLOCK - If you are not in a FLOCK we encourage you to join one today. Stop by the Welcome Center today and someone would love to help you get connected with other people striving to become more like Christ. We also have a Small Group meeting on Sunday nights at 5:30 p.m. in room 356 studying the book. This group is being facilitated by Les and Stephanie Miller and specifically Welcome Gue sts designed for those unable to attend an Adult FLOCK on Sunday mornings. Calendar these dates - We are planning special events to help you practically apply the five purposes: o Special night for FLOCK Parties (Kid's Night Out) - March 28th o Special BodyLife training, all in one morning! - April 5th o Steve Green Concert - April 11th o Random Acts of Kindness - April 12th and 19th o Easter Sunday - April 20th This week we will be studying the second purpose for our lives, we were formed for God's family. Our desire is for each of us to become fully functioning individuals in the body of Christ. Spring Break Schedule Changes With the commencement of Spring Break this weekend, there have been some modifications made to our normal Sunday and Wednesday church schedules. Many of today's regular afternoon and evening activities have been canceled. This includes: AWANA, Deeper, DIG and the Senior Adult Bible Study. Additionally, XA will not meet this coming Wednesday, although our Wednesday night meal, worship, STOMP and PreSTOMP events will be held as normal. Our schedule will return to normal next Sunday. If you're a guest at Henderson Hills Baptist Church today, we want to welcome you and thank you for coming. We hope you'll feel at home here this morning. Our promise is that we won't do anything to embarrass you or make you uncomfortable. Our prayer is that you'll experience heartfelt worship, and hear a word from the Lord applicable to your life. Should you have questions, please visit one of our Welcome Centers located at the northwest and southeast entrances to the Worship Center building. Brochures on many of our ministries are available at the Information Table in the hallway on the northern side of the Worship Center. Again, welcome to Henderson Hills!
