Activity Extra curricular activities are also important part of university life. They bring physical strength and raise confidence in students, that is what Institute of English Literature and language has been practicing for many years through organising Food Festival. Students from different classes arrange a Food Festival and Gatsby party at the park of institute, where the stalls of food are mainly installed cultural food of every province with Kashmir too were arranged in a theme costumes. Mass quantity attended the event from different institutions and departments of the university. Vice chancellor, University of Sindh Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat inaugrated the festival and visited the food stalls with appreciative comments. During his visit at different stalls Dr Burfat praised the steps taken by institute and its students and said that Institute of English language and Literature is one of finest institutes of the University where greater minds are being taught by professionals. This Food Festival has elaborated the interests of students beside studies, and their professionalism in different activities. These type of festivals must be going on because through these sort of festivals students get a platform to showcase their talent and abilities which vary from academic activities. These activities lead students to a confident way and also promote the culture and food of different regions. Pakistani food is considered one of finest food in the world and it bears a different image of country, through proper marketing it can be used as a source of greater income for the country. Students must use internet and new technologies to rebrand the image of country and enter in the field of marketing through food, he added. Focal person from Sindh University campus @Thatta Professor Dr Sarfaraz Hussain Solangi, Director Institute of English Language and Literature Professor, Dr Rafique Ahmed Memon were there along with head of different departments, teachers and students. Stalls at the festival were arranged with traditional and famous foods from all provinces and Kashmir too. Stalls included food such as Lassi, Achar, Rice, Sindhi Pullao, Kashmiri tea and many more. Students were dressed in cultural theme of all the provinces. At the end of the Food Festival students were awarded appreciation prizes and certificates.
