What is 2010

I m pac t... What is Impact? Impact is the Service and Missions arm of the Pomona First Baptist Church (PFB) Next-Gen Ministries. We work closely with the Global Impact Ministries of PFB on various missions and service projects. Our purpose for Impact is to support the main vision of Inside Out Ministries of PFB, one of our goals is that all students and young adults will be involved in some type of ministry not everyone is called to go overseas but all are called to serve in some way. Before anyone gets involved, we encourage them to pray that God will direct them to just the right project. THE MAIN STUFF WE BELIEVE We believe that there is one God and that he is awesome. We believe in the Holy Trinity, even though we can t completely understand it. The fact that we can t understand it leaves us in awe of God. We believe that Jesus is God. We believe He came to earth as a man, while still remaining God, lived a perfect life, died on a cross for the sins of all people, and rose from the dead so that those who receive him may know God. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life that no one can get to God except through him. We believe that the Bible is the word of God. We believe that God knows how to write a book (even if some smart people think they can show the Bible isn t reliable) that is applicable to life past, present, and future. We believe in every part of it, even the parts that we don t understand. We accept all of it as from God for us to know him better and to live out his abundant life in us. We believe that the Christian life is a journey filled with both defeats and victories, with the purpose of making us look more and more like Jesus. We believe that Jesus will complete his work in us he will just take the rest of our lives to complete that work. We believe that Jesus is passionate about everyone, desiring all people to accept him as their Lord so that they may be forgiven of their sins and enjoy knowing him forever. Because of that, we will share Christ with others, both in word and deed. InsideOut exists to exalt Jesus as THE GREATEST... one student at a time. Brian Holland, Next-Gen Lead High School Pastor 2

S e r v i c e & M i s s i o n s... Impact Service & Missions We recognize that there are many mission organizations to choose from. Here are five reasons why you should choose Impact Next-Gen Missions: We re Christ Centered Our missions focus is first on developing the young adult and your son or daughter s relationship with Jesus Christ. By learning to love others like Christ loved us, they will learn how truly deep the Lord s love is for themselves and others. We re Affordable Next-Gen Ministries offers more life-changing, Christ-centered, youth and multigenerational mission trips for less. We want you to be the hands and feet of Jesus without it costing you and your son or daughter an arm and a leg. We re Personal We want to know your son or daughter and the young adult. Our average participation at mission sites is 4 to 35 youth and adult leaders. Small groups allow your son or daughter to be known and to know others. (Average participation for multigenerational projects is 45 participants.) We re committed to Communities Next-Gen Ministries has year-round connections in the communities where we serve. T h r e e L e v e l s... Which Impact Missions & Service Level Is Best? PFB Next-Gen Ministries is serious about missions. We want all students and young adults to have a positive, rewarding, and spiritually productive experience. We do this by assigning each mission trip a ministry level. The ministry level is based upon the experience in ministry required for the trip as well as the nature of the cross-cultural experience and challenging conditions that the young adult and your son or daughter s will encounter. We encourage you to choose a trip according to your son or daughter s and the young adult spiritual maturity, ministry experience, and tolerance for new and (many times) less than comfortable living environments. Every member of the mission team must be in a living, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They will be challenged to share how Christ has changed their lives. They ll be expected to tell others clearly and concisely how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Three levels of service Next-Gen Ministries is serious about service! We want you to have a positive, rewarding, and spiritually productive experience. We do this by assigning each mission trip a ministry level. The ministry level is based upon the ministry experience required, as well as the nature of the cross-cultural experience and challenging conditions that you will encounter. Level 1 Student/Young Adult who have little or no mission experience but are willing to step out in faith. Level 2 Student/Young Adult with some mission experience who want more. Level 3 Student/Young Adult with significant mission experience who can radically serve and, in the process, be spiritually transformed. Random Acts* Commissioned stepping out into the community to share the gospel: Once a month This is a level 2 activity *To insure proper staffing for events and wise use of the finances, please sign up by e-mail, at Elevate or on Sunday Morning. 4

N a t i o n a l & I n t e r n a t i o n a l... National We serve with our established missionaries and organizations in many areas within the continental United States. Kodiak, Alaska July-August $1,700, Rainbow Acres, (Memorial Day Weekend 2010) May 28-31 $150 *National trips are levels 1 & 2, *International trips are Level 3 International Canada July-August 2010 $1,500 Lithuania June 19- July 6, 2010 $2,500 Reacomodo, B.C. Mexico March 27-30, 2010 $250 Reacomodo, B.C. Mexico April 5-9, 2010 $250 We pray for each student that Gods Holy Spirit lays on their heart to be involved in a local service or mission s project. We will slowly introduce them to the concepts of serving by doing missions locally, emailing information along with print and visual media, having available service projects at Elevate and Sunday Morning, making announcements from the stage, along with having a knowledgeable person at the sign-up area to answer any questions that will lead them to getting more involved with a level 1 project over time. This will continually introduce the student to deeper service projects that leads into level 2 and 3 projects that will stretch them in their daily walk with Jesus Christ. 6
