Types of Retreat Offerings Directed or Private Self-Directed Retreat This retreat is silent. A contemplative atmosphere will be supported by silent meals with quiet music. It will offer time for prayer, Liturgy, and for those who choose directed retreat, meeting privately with a spiritual director to discuss their experience of God in prayer. A private retreat is spent in silence and prayer, but is self-directed. Preached Retreat This is a structured retreat with a presenter who develops a theme through a combination of talks, discussions and/or activities. There are times for silent prayer, Liturgy, individual leisure activities and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A choice of silence or conversation at meals is usually given. Reflection Morning or Afternoon This is a time to reflect on a seasonal theme for several hours with people who are interested in doing the same. The presenter will guide the day s reflection and interaction with the group. LuAnn Sgrecci O Connell is a spiritual director, retreat leader, homeschool co-op teacher and mother of five children whom she and her husband homeschooled from birth to college. She received her spiritual direction training through Oasis Ministries and has an MS in Public Policy Analysis and a BA in Economics. She is involved in liturgical ministries at her church. Learning and helping others learn has been a theme throughout her life. LuAnn s interests reflect God as Creator, Artist and Teacher: reading, writing, creativity, nature and contemplative living. For fun she collects Nancy Drew and Judy Bolton mysteries. Directed, Silent 24 Hr. & Weekend: Feb. 19-21 Taize Prayer: Friday, Mar. 11, & Fri. Apr. 15, 7-8 PM Basilica Sister Anita M. Constance, SC, is the author of several spiritual books, and is experienced in giving retreats and workshops. She received her MS from Fordham University (NY) in Religious Studies, and is a certified spiritual director who presently gives retreats, spiritual direction, grief support, and Healing Touch. Her experience includes ministry as a Pastoral Associate for the Paterson Diocese, Director of Pastoral Care at St. Anne Villa, and Director of Xavier Retreat Center both in Convent Station, NJ. Lois Landis Miller is a Spiritual Director who received her training through Kairos School of Spiritual Formation located at the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth in Wernersville, PA. Lois has a B.S. in Elementary Education. She is married, the mother of three young adult children and their spouses, and grandmother to two grandchildren. Currently, Lois is involved in pastoral care and prayer ministries in her church, and companioning others as a spiritual director and mentor. She also guides contemplative prayer retreats. Her passions are reading, bird-watching, photography, and gardening. Most of all, she delights in walking with others on their spiritual journeys. Silent, Directed 24 Hr. & Weekends: Mar. 18-20, and Sept. 9-11 Joan Miller attended Bloomsburg University where she received her BSN and MSN degrees. She received her PhD from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Her dissertation focused on the role of religiosity and spirituality for patients and caregivers following a first-time cardiac event. Dr. Miller is Professor Emeritus Bloomsburg University where she mentors students as they progress in their undergraduate education. Dr. Miller s mentoring focuses on the theory of Good Work, work that is at once excellent, ethical, and engaging. Dr. Miller serves on the Bioethics Research and Advisory Committee at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. In this role, she is embarking on a Family Discussion Project aimed at assisting patients and families who are addressing end-of-life care. She also serves on the Geisinger Health System Spiritual Care Committee. Research interests include perception of the meaning of Good Work in Nursing among nurses in different cultures and the role of spiritual care in health and well-being. She received her M.A. in Spirituality from Creighton University, Omaha, NE, and did her practicum at the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth, Wernersville PA. As an experienced spiritual director, she has witnessed the profound insights discovered through the working of the Holy Spirit during each person s spiritual journey. She has been involved in retreat work on the East Coast, in several Mid-western States, and in Nova Scotia, Canada. For the past 24 years, it has been her joy to accompany laity, clergy of various denominations, and men and women religious on their spiritual journeys. Jean enjoys singing, dream work, creating sacred life patterns with collage, and taking walks in nature. Silent, Directed 24 Hr. & Weekends: June 10-12, and October 28-30

Fr. Vincent Fortunato O.F.M. Cap., is an ordained priest with the Capuchin Franciscan Friars. He has served his community for 20 years in Formation Ministry and as Provincial Minister for 6 years. He has an M. Div. degree from Darlington Seminary and a MA degree in Spirituality from Creighton University. He has certifications in Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats. During the month of June, Fr. Vinny with Fr. Joe Kelly teach a Seminar on Spiritual Direction to Priest Spiritual Directors for the Institute of Priestly Formation at Creighton University. He has taught Spiritual Direction at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall and Washington Theological Union. He is a presenter of spiritual direction for groups and training programs. He also is a preacher for Parish Missions and retreats. Presently he lives in Wilmington DE. Guided Retreat July 31 Aug. 6 Face to Face: Together Again For the First Time Lisa Hibberd, a former strategic facilities project manager and now the owner of the Yoga Studio and Inn at Cammal, PA, is a licensed massage therapist and certified yoga teacher. She received her massage education at Cortiva and is a 300 hour certified yoga teacher. She has, for the past five years, led or assisted several spiritual wellness retreats. Prior to her ministry of spiritual wellness through the mind and body, she was the president of an architectural/design firm in the Philadelphia area, graduated Moore College of Art with a BFA in Design and sat on the Board as well. She values the space we can offer to each other on our journeys and is happy to be assisting on the retreat Entitled "Face to Face: Together for the First Time", with meditation, reflection, and optional massage. Lisa believes that we change by Chance or by Choice, either way we are brought Face to Face with the Lord each time. She considers retreats as treasures and feels deeply that - "When we are able to hold sacred the space between each of us, we become better versions of ourselves in the process." Pat Hickey, SSJ, a Sister of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia, is a graduate of Creighton University and is certified in supervision from Chestnut Hill College. She has been involved full time in the ministry of spiritual direction, retreats and supervision for many years. Directed Retreat July 31 August 6 Sister Sue Pontz, SS.C.M., is a Sister of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Sue was a high school English and Math teacher who later earned her Doctorate in Instructional Technology, and is currently ministering as the Director of Instructional Technology at the Oblate School of Theology, San Antonio, TX. She earned an MA in Theology at Oblate, and completed her training in spiritual direction at the Ignatius Training Centre in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. In addition to her work at Oblate, she is in her second term as General Councilor and her first term as Co-Vocation Director for her Congregation. She believes her role in spiritual direction is that of observant listener. Sue hopes that each session provides the sacred space needed for her directees to notice the graced ways in which God is moving within each of them. Directed Retreat July 31 August 6 Teresa Skierkowski, SCC, MA, MS, is the Director of Quellen Spiritual Center. She holds a Masters Degree in Theology and a MS in Administration. She facilitates retreats and programs and is a spiritual director and is trained to give Directed Retreats. Her training in Spiritual Direction is from Linwood Spiritual Center in Rhinebeck, NY, and her training as a Supervisor of Spiritual Directors from Inisfada, St. Ignatius Retreat Center, Manhasset, NY. Sister gives directed retreats, guided retreats and days of reflection. She serves on the staff of the Quellen Spiritual Direction Formation Program. Behold! Finally the program will examine literature addressing the relationship between religion/spirituality and health across the age spectrum. A Very Special Weekend -May 27 29, 2016 Listen and Follow Jesus: Explore a Call to Consecrated Life Are you being called to a different way? Pope Francis challenged consecrated men and women to Be witnesses of a different way of doing things, of acting, of living! The Church teaches that by your Baptism you are called to be holy! What does this mean? How are you called to be a joyful follower of Jesus? These questions will be the focus of a discernment retreat sponsored by the Vocation Team of the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius. The weekend will consist of a variety of sessions, prayer including liturgy on Saturday and Sunday, and ample time for personal reflection and/or one-on-one conversation with a member of the SS.C.M. Retreat team. All Catholic women, 18 and older, are invited to participate. The $125 offering includes all meals, room, hospitality and supplies.
