All The Lord is risen indeed Alleluia! One May his grace and peace be with you. All May he fill our hearts with joy. Children s Talk The Opening Prayer One Almighty God, All to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy

name, through Christ our Lord. Amen. One Let us pray. We pray silently One God of deep soil and luxurious growth, All you call us from our shallow selves to find our depth in you: may we abide in him alone who can teach us who we are, Jesus Christ, the true vine. Amen. We Proclaim the Word The First Reading: Acts 8:26-40 Read by Michael Birch Reader Hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. All Thanks be to God.

Psalm 22.24-30 Jennifer Parr One: My praise is of him in the great assembly; I will perform my vows in the presence of those who worship him. All The poor shall eat and be satisfied, and those who seek the Lord shall praise him: May your heart live for ever! One All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall bow before him. All For kingship belongs to the Lord; he rules over the nations. One To him alone all who sleep in the earth bow down in worship; all who go down to the dust fall before him. All My soul shall live for him; my descendants shall serve him; they shall be known as the Lord s for ever.

One They shall come and make known to a people yet unborn the saving deeds that he has done. The Second Reading: 1 John 4.7-21 (Fr) Read by Guylaine Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Saviour of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgement, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love. We love because he first loved us. Those who say, I love God, and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen,

cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also. Reader La Parole du Seigneur. Communion HERE BY THE WATER Steve Bell Soft field of clover, moon hanging over the valley, Joining the song of the river, To the great giver, of the great good,

As it enfolds me somehow it holds me together, I realize I've been singing, Still it comes ringing, clearer than clear Here by the water, I'll build an altar to praise Him, Out of the stones that I've found here, I'll set them down here, rough as they are, Knowing You can make them holy, Knowing You can make them holy, Knowing You can make them holy, I think how a yearning, kept on returning to move me, Down roads I'd never have chosen, Half the time frozen, too numb to feel,

I know it was stormy, I hope it was for me a learning, Blood on the road wasn't mine though, Someone that I know, has walked here before We Are Sent One Let us pray. We pray silently One God of love, All in this eucharist we have heard your truth and shared in your life. May we always walk in your way, in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen. All Glory to God, whose power, working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God, from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.

Take the Poverty Challenge on May 12 Are you interested in volunteering for an incredible initiative on Saturday, May 12? The Poverty Challenge is a full-day exercise that simulates the experience of poverty, and the difficulties of navigating the system. Ottawa civic leaders are being invited to participate, and to help us make it happen, a small army of volunteers is needed! It's a very powerful day, and we're using it to launch a civic leadership education series on housing and homelessness in Ottawa. The series is aimed at diving deeper into the problem, and presenting solutions that are happening all across the country right now. Fifty volunteers over age 18 are needed; so please circulate this to your networks of people you think would be well suited. For details, visit tinyurl.com/yd77jno6
