2014-2015 Tennessee Temple University Campus Choir Information Packet

History. Known for it s rich musical heritage, the music department of Tennessee Temple is a world- renowned music ministry. Having great success, the TN Temple Music Department at one time, was the most popular among Southern Baptist colleges in the world. The legacy of Tennessee Temple University s Music continues on with the formation of the Tennessee Temple University Campus Choir, which is the premiere traveling choir of Temple. Mission. Vision. Purpose. As members of the TTU Campus Choir we are committed to serving the Lord and leading others to encounters with Him through worship on a weekly basis. It is an incredible privilege to use music and singing as a gift to lie at the feet of the Lord. Our MISSION is for God to be pleased with the sound of our worship. Our VISION is to see lives changed by God and those who are far from God to become close to God. While we have the opportunity to participate in special events and concerts at various times of the year, as well, we recognize that the weekly Worship experience in chapel and ministering to the students and faculty of Tennessee Temple University is our primary PURPOSE. Attendance. Tennessee Temple University Campus Choir s (TTUCC) satisfactory performances depend on each singer's preparation and dedication. Therefore, regular attendance at rehearsals and scheduled events is essential to the overall success of the TTU Campus Choir. Each member is allowed two (2) missed rehearsals per semester for illness, work, personal issues, etc. The Campus Choir Administrative Assistant will keep track of attendance. We ask each member to notify the Administrative Assistant in the event he or she will need to be absent and the reason for the absence. Efficient rehearsals depend on each member being in place and ready to sing at the scheduled times.

Rehearsals. TTUCC Rehearsal is conducted every Thursday from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the choir room located in the Lee Roberson Center (LRC) in Room 215, This time is subject to change by the director in case of holiday, school closings, or other circumstances. The Administrative Assistant, via Text message, Phone call, or Email, will notify each choir member. What To Expect. The heartbeat of Campus Choir is to facilitate an educational, relational and spiritual experience for those who sing with Campus Choir, and those who attend our concerts. Educational Experience. Those who sing with Campus Choir learn different musical terms, styles, basic music theory, breathing techniques and vocal exercises simply from attending rehearsals regularly. Relational Experience. Our rehearsals foster an opportunity for fun and fellowship, and are a place where you can find love and support. At our concerts people find an opportunity to connect with a diverse spectrum of people from many denominational backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds, and many different walks of life. Spiritual Experience. Our rehearsals motivate those who sing with us to strive for excellence and a next- level experience in their art through dedication and passionate learning. Be it a rehearsal, meeting, or performance, all members are to treat every meeting as a time of fellowship together. Our prayer is that those who attend our performances will have a life changing experience that will motivate them to make a decision to follow Jesus, and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

I want each of you to know that I love and appreciate you dearly. Without your participation, Campus Choir would be nothing. I am very excited about the upcoming semester and I am expecting a move of God on this campus and for God to absolutely use us in a mighty way to impact lives through the ministering of the gospel through song, and by leading others into worship. My heart for this year s group is for each of you to have a personal encounter with God in worship, so that we can minister more effectively; Only changed people can change people.
