Training opportunities and leadership development experiences are important for your growth as an individual member and for the organization of United Methodist Women. Training & Updates will be presented for the local unit President, Parliamentarian, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer ( (NEW SPECIFICS/GUIDELINES FOR UNIT TREASURERS), Spiritual Growth, Social Action, E & I, I, MNO, Program Resources, Communications, Historian and Nominations. The Training will be led by Athens-Elberton UMW District Officers for their respective office.elected OFFICERS IN EACH LOCAL UNIT, DISTRICT AND CONFERENCE NCE OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN ARE EXPECTED AND ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE EACH YEAR IN CONTINUING TRAINING NG FOR THEIR PARTICULAR RESPONSIBILITIES. DON T MISS THIS YEAR S LEADERSHIP TRAINING JANUARY 26 TH This is the chance for all new unit leaders to learn about their job responsibilities and for old leaders to learn what is new. Come make new friends and visit with old ones. This years training is at Chapelwood UMC, 100 Janice Drive, Athens, GA 30606 Directions: From the loop 10 around Athens, take exit 16 Jefferson Highway and turn North. Follow the Jefferson Hwy to Whitehead Road and turn left and follow it to Janice Dr. If you are coming from the north on Hwy 129 turn right on to Whitehead Road and follow it to Janice Drive. From the Treasurer I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Athens on Saturday, January 26 th for the 2013 Officer Training. Your Conference Treasurer, Elaine Mathews, has created a new Unit Treasurer Operations Manual complete with all necessary forms that you will need to perform your duties as unit treasurer. Due to the cost of printing and mailing the new Treasurers' Manual and forms, I plan to email them to you prior to the January 26 th meeting. Upon receipt, please print a copy to bring with you to the meeting. If you do not have email, please call me and I will print a copy for you (706-296-3483).
