Holy Spirit would you help us open our hearts to truth. Down in My Heart I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart Down in my heart! Down in my heart! I have the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, Down in my heart to stay I have the peace that passeth understanding down in my heart, Down in my heart! Down in my heart! I have the peace that passeth understanding down in my heart Down in my heart to stay *LITANY Psalm 27 I have the love of Jesus, love of Jesus Down in my heart, Down in my heart! Down in my heart! I have the love of Jesus, love of Jesus Down in my heart, Down in my heart to stay. P The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? C When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. P Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. C One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. P For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD. C Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, LORD, do I seek." Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!

BRIEF ORDER OF CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS P: God of all mercy and consolation, come to the aid of your people, turning us from our sin to live for you alone. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit that, attentive to your Word, we may confess our sins, receive your forgiveness, and grow into the fullness of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. C: Amen ~ Pause for a moment of silent revelation. ~ C: have mercy on us. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things done and left undone. Uphold us by your Spirit so that we may live and serve you in newness of life, to the honor and glory of your holy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen P: Almighty God who is rich in mercy hears us confessing our sin through the blood of Jesus Christ His Son. You and I are forgiven today because He is righteous and just to forgive us when we confess. You are forgiven! In the place of the guilt and shame receive the peace and joy of the Lord strengthening you in newness of life. C: Amen *PRAYER OF THE DAY Almighty and eternal God, you show perpetual lovingkindness to us your servants. Because we cannot rely on our own abilities, grant us your merciful judgment, and train us to embody the generosity of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
