answers. The question is, what can be considered to be the most important law? Love your neighbor as yourself! Survey says.correct! (Luke and Fritz return to their sides, Richard follows Luke) Leah: Lenny: Alright Lily, Luke got you on the board. What other law could be considered to be very important? Ummm not to covet your neighbor s stuff. Survey says correct! Two down, four to go. Levi, what law did you choose? To not take the name of the Lord in vain. And it s on the board! Your turn, Leah. Ummm well...how about to honor your parents? Correct! Can you keep the Law Family alive, Lenny? Well...maybe no there s always that one law ummm (beep beep) I m sorry Lenny, but you ve run out of time. One strike on the Law Family. Back up to you Luke. I ll go with to spread God s Word throughout the land. (beep beep) I m sorry Luke, but that s not considered a law. Instead it was Jesus wish for all of his followers. Alright Faith Family, get ready to steal! (Faith family huddles up) Page 2
Alright Lily, once again, what is considered a very important law? Do not worship false gods? The Law family is still alive! Alright Levi, we ve got one more answer on the board, do you know what it is? I think so, I m going to go with do not murder. The Law Family has managed to stay alive and win the round! Lily, Fiona, please come forward. We surveyed 100 people and the top seven answers are on the board. The question what were some of Jesus miracles during his time on Earth? (Lily hits the buzzer) Frederick: Franklin: Francis: Lily? Healing a blind man? Survey says, that is answer number three. Fiona if you can give an answer that is higher on the board, your team will go first. Raising from the dead after dying on the cross? Survey says that s the number one answer, over to the Faith Family. Alright Frederick, what is one of Jesus miracles? Turning water into wine? That is answer number five! On to Franklin. Well, there were so many miracles, I ll go with raising Lazarus from the dead. Correct! Only three answers to go. Francis? How about feeding the five thousand people with two fish and three loaves of bread? Page 3
Fritz: And we have answer number six! Up to Fritz. I ll say when Jesus calmed the storm. Correct! Fiona? Can you wrap up the round? I sure hope so! I ll go with when Jesus walked on water. And the Faith Family has swept the board! We have a tie! On to the final round. Frederick, Levi, come on down! Only this round, because there is a tie, we ve decided to choose a question that only has one answer. This means we re going to do things a little differently. Whoever hits the buzzer first upon hearing the question gets to answer the question first. However, you both will return to your families to come up with a group answer. The question is, what is the one thing you must do in order to spend eternity in Heaven? (Levi hits the buzzer) Leah: Lenny: Page 4 The Law Family will go first, Faith Family, start preparing your answer. Alright Laws, I need one answer with a reason. Well Richard, after putting a lot of thought into it, we ve decided that you must follow the law and do good by others to get into Heaven. We know this because God doesn t let bad people like thieves or murderers into Heaven. He only lets good people who do what they re told in. And if you do lots of good things you'll get in for sure! Alright Faith family, your turn. We ve decided to go with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, always having faith in him and
living your life for him. Frederick: Franklin: Francis: Fritz: This includes following the laws, but you can t buy yourself into Heaven by obeying every single law of doing lots and lots of good things. That s right, in Romans chapter 3 it says For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. That means everyone messes up sometimes; no one is perfect. The good thing is that it continues on to say that God presented Jesus as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. This simply says that while following the law is important, it is more important to keep your faith in Jesus because God sent him to redeem everyone s sins. In verse 28 it says, For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law And our survey says Faith in Jesus! The Faith Family wins! Congratulations! Thanks for tuning in, catch you next week on Family Feud!! Page 5
