Guardians Handbook

Dear Parents We thank you for entrusting your young people into our hands as we work together in teaching, guiding and growing the youth of Bayside into the men and women that God has given them the potential to be. We are excited to be on this journey with you and fully understand our role in supporting your efforts in raising your youth in the way that (they) should go (Proverbs 22:6). Within this handbook we hope to answer any questions that you may have regarding who we are and what we do. If you have any further questions, please talk to any of our leaders or the appropriate member of the Bayside Youth team as outlined in this handbook. We look forward to partnering with you Katelin Thorne (Bayside Youth Ministry Leader)

Vision Bayside Youth Vision Statement: Seeing today s youth established in their faith and going out and touching lives with the love of Christ. We will fulfill this by: Knowing Jesus and Making Jesus Known Together. Within this we want to see a positive change in the youth culture, where young people are touched by Jesus and transformed by Jesus, building relationships with each other, and telling their friends about Jesus. We want to Know Jesus and make Jesus Known. Know Jesus Our whole youth program is shaped by the values that Jesus lived out. These values include love, forgiveness, encouragement, joy, inclusiveness, kindness, help, support, wisdom, and many more. We want youth to get to know Jesus, who He was and what He taught, and develop a relationship with the living Jesus whom we know. Make Jesus Known It is our goal to make Jesus, and the love and hope that He brings, known to others. All others. We believe that we are called to do so, and that once we, as individuals, make the decision to follow Jesus and live out what he taught, we are to share Jesus with others. Together We are a community: everyone is a part of it and everyone is welcome to belong. We are created for community and to be in God s church family. Life is not a journey that we do alone, but in community. We are passionate to see youth included into the family of Bayside Youth, where they can have love, support and guidance.
