1. Love the kids and see the love you get in return 2. Make learning fun. Do not demean the kids love of learning by overt and covert criticisms 3. All children are masum hence the ultimate fault is of an adult! 4. Be the first to say Sallams with a happy smile 5. Do not make the lessons of faith an artificial attachment to life 6. Use plenty of life examples. Let the children share their experiences and thoughts 6. Do not make religion over burdening for yourself or others. Make it sensible and meaningful 7. Remember the PPPPP rule: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance 8. Use other books where needed. Create a book culture around kids. 9. Create a good atmosphere in class by smiles, soft voice, naats, munajats and nasheeds in the background, and plenty of interesting displays 10. Keep it organised. Show interest in the kids work. And give appropriate praise & rewards. Without these we all will fail in providing children with quality service in upbringing and in education. 4. Allah created Adam and Hawwa to think how important it was to love and live happily with each other. Here are men and women, boys and girls who care for each other and who help each other. Draw hearts all around them to show they have learnt how important it is to care for each other. 2. In this space write the names of all the children in your class. LESSON 2 THE LAUGHING SATANS 1. These people have listened to satan. Connect them to Satan. What bad things are they doing which makes satan happy? Write down the missing bad things being done. STEALING DIRTY BULLYING FIGHTING When you do bad things you stop being special. Only those who don t do bad things stay special. Think of other bad things people when they listen to Satan? (tell lies, swear, not come to mosque, spoil things etc) THE NABIS Page 7

2. Answer these questions in class: 1. What was taken off from Adam and Hawwa when they ate the forbidden fruit? C L 2. Adam and Hawwa became shameful when their heavenly clothes were taken off them. Adam and Hawwa prayed for forgiveness. What do we learn from this? TEACHERS DISCUSSION 4.Answer these questions a. What false promise did Satan make to Adam and Hawwa? b. What did Satan do when Adam and Hawwa made a mistake? c. What did Adam and Hawwa do when they made a mistake? 5. When you do bad things then it is called SINFUL or GHUNA. Who is happy when you do Ghuna? 6. When you think you might do ghuna then you have to pray like this: O Allah save me from making satan happy. For each of these say the above words: 1. Breaking a promise 2. Telling lies 3. Throwing rubbish on the floor 4. Not listening to your parents or teachers 5. Fighting 6. Staying Dirty and not brushing your teeth 7. Wasting food 8. HOMEWORK 2 1. Tell your parents or uncles what Adam & Hawwa had which made them the best of creation. (They were not proud of ask for forgiveness and they thought good things) 2. Tell them what angels say when they greet the Nabi (Salaamun Alaikum) 3. Why do you think knowledge is better than power or beauty? (Because knowledge can give you both power & Beauty) 4. Write down this in the box: WE ARE LUCKY TO COME TO THE EARTH W A L C T C M T T E 2. TASK: Satan is jealous of all good children who seek forgiveness if they do wrong by mistake. 3. Tell your parents the story of the tree in heaven and how Adam and Hawwa were not proud to seek forgiveness. What should you say if you think you will do a sin. Colour the picture of children shaking hands because they are saying sorry to each other and asking for forgiveness. Then write down the words: I AM SORRY. THIS KIND OF LIFE ACTIVITIES WILL STAY WITH THEM ALL THEIR LIVES. 3. WHEN TIDYING UP AND CLEANING THE HOME TELL CHILDREN THIS IS WHAT THE NABIS TAUGHT US. INVOLVE CHILDREN IN POSITIVE ACTIVITIES LIKE THIS. DO NOT SHOUT AND SCREAM AT HOME. WHEN YOU GET CARRIED AWAY WITH YOUR DOMESTIC ACTIVITIES REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE DOING IT FOR THE PEACE OF YOUR FAMILY. REMEMBER A LOT OF PARENTS IN TH E MODERN WORLD TAKE THEIR FRUSTRATIONS OUT ON LITTLE CHILDREN WHOSE MINDS AND HEARTS ARE AFFECTED AS A RESULT. 4. TAKE THEM TO THE CEMETRY TO SEE THE GRAVES.
