Beliefs about the Prophets of Allāh Allāh has sent many Prophets and Messengers to guide people, according to the needs of the people. We do not know all their names or their exact number, but believe in all of them. If a person rejects even one Prophet of Allāh then he is not a Muslim. All the Prophets were human beings who had human needs and feelings. All Prophets were truthful, trustworthy, and righteous. They fulfilled their responsibilities to Allāh, and feared none except Allāh. All the Prophets of Allāh are innocent and free from sin. Allāh has protected them from sin. If they were not innocent, Allāh would not have commanded us to follow them. Although all Prophets were righteous and sinless, some Prophets have a higher status than others. Five of the greatest Prophets were: Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and

و س لم) Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Among these Prophets, Muhammad status. ) has the highest ص لى هللا ع ل يه Prophethood is called Nubuwwah, and every Prophet is called a Nabi. The plural of Nabi is Anbiya. There were about 124,000 Anbiya. Risalah means message. A Messenger a special Nabi who receives a new book from Allāh is known as a Rasul. The plural of Rasul is Rusul. There were about 313 Rusul. Every Nabi gets revelation from Allāh, but a Rasul receives a new book and a new law (shari ah) from Allāh. Every Rasul is a Nabi, but not every Nabi is a Rasul. Muhammad ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم) ) is the last and final Prophet of Allāh. No Prophet will come after him. When Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) returns to the world before the Day of Judgment, he will return as a follower of Prophet Muhammad ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم),( not as a Nabi. Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was born without a father and did not die on the cross. He was raised to the heavens and will return before the day of Judgment to die a natural death. Believing in all the Prophets does not mean following the laws sent to them. The ) ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم) Qur an and law (Shari ah) that Prophet Muhammad brought overrule the all laws that came before him. We are commanded to follow the only. ) ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم) Shar iah of Prophet Muhammad

Nubuwwah and Risalah are gifts from Allāh. They cannot be earned. Allāh chooses Prophets. Prophethood cannot be taken away from any Prophet. Allāh gave miracles to Prophets to prove their truthfulness to people. False prophets cannot bring such miracles. Some examples of the miracles of the Prophets are: o The fire became cool when Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into it. o The stick of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) turned into a serpent and ate the ropes of the magicians, his hand shone with brightness, and opened the sea for him. o Prophet Isa (peace be upon him), by the permission of Allāh, gave life to the dead, restored the eyesight of the blind, and gave life to birds made of clay. o Prophet Muhammad ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم) ) once split the moon into two parts. He also once fed an entire army with a very small amount of food. Many people once made Wudu from the water that flowed from his fingertips. The greatest miracle is the Qur an. The miracle of its beauty and truth can be witnessed even today. Prophet Muhammad ص لى هللا ع ل يه و س لم) ) was taken on a night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem, and from there to the heavens as far as Allāh wished. He saw Jannah and Jahannam on this night and the 5 daily prayers were gifted to this Ummah on this night. This event was known as the Mi raj.

هللا هيلع و ملس) According to a saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad there were about 124,000 Prophets (peace be upon them all), sent to various ص لى) nations and tribes throughout history. Only 25 of the Prophets of Allāh have been mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, and they have been listed below (from last to first): Twenty-Five Prophets Mentioned in the Holy Qur'an Name of Prophet Number of Times Mentioned in the Qur'an 1.
