The History of Palestine This Area was First called Canaan. Named after Noah s Grandson Canaan The Egyptians (Descendants of Noah through his Grandson Mizraim) called this land Philistia: Named after one of Mizraim s Sons Philistim who s descendants came by Boat from a settlement in the Aegean Area of Crete to settle in south Canaan.

The History of Palestine He has two sons the first is Ishmael the second is Isaac. Ishmael s descendants become multiple & specific tribes that reside in the Arabian Peninsula and the upper middle east. Isaac s name is changed to Israel and his descendants become 12 specific tribes that live in Canaan / Philista before becoming slaves in Egypt for 300 years followed by a mass EXEDOUS back to Canaan Canaan Abraham A descendant of one of Noah s Sons Schem relocates from Mesopotamia to Canaan

Zionist Movement Early 1900 s: Jews slowly begin to return to Palestine and called for a Jewish nation-state. * However? Most people claiming a Jewish ethnicity have been gone from this location for 1,830 years. 1917 -- Balfour Declaration: British Bankers and other financial backers support the recreation of a Jewish Nation-State in Palestine / Canaan as long as rights of the Palestinian people were protected.

Arab-Israeli Conflict Palestinian Response The Palestinians attacked Israel immediately. But Israel was supported by England and the USA. Israel: won the battle and gained half of the Palestinian s land. 1956 Suez Crisis: Egyptian President Nasser ordered his Army to take control of the Suez Canal ( originally paid for and operated by the British )

Arab-Israeli Conflict Suez Canal: Great Britain wanted to regain control of the canal Military Force: Great Britain allied with the Israeli Army to take back the canal and Won. Outcome: THE U.S.( Supported Israel) and The Soviet Union (Supported Egypt) ordered Great Britain to give the Canal back as part of a middle east peace deal.

Arab-Israeli Conflict 1964 & The PLO: The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Was Created Two Country Solution:- Yasser Arafat was the Leader of the PLO & Prepared for War against Israel to regain the land lost in the 1948 War. MID EAST ALLIANCE: Arafat creates an military alliance between the Muslim Arab Countries of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Iran.

Arab-Israeli Wars ISRAELI SURPRISE: Israel Strikes First! 1967: Six Day War Israel strikes Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Iran first and tripled its territory ( Richard Nixon POTUS ) WINNING LAND: Israel takes control of the Sinai Peninsula, West Bank Golan Heights and the Entire City of Jerusalem ( Which was half Palestinian and Half Jewish ) 1973: Yom Kippur War Egypt launched an air strike against Israel on a Jewish Holiday and caught them off guard ( Richard Nixon POTUS )

Arab-Israeli Conflict 1979: Camp David Accords: After 6 weeks of fighting a Cease-Fire was signed by Egypt & Israel ( Jimmy Carter was POTUS ) The AGREEMENT: Egypt must recognize Israel as a Sovereign County. Israel must give back The Sinai Peninsula (which was historically part of Egypt) they took during the Six Day War Assassination: Radical Egyptian Muslims did not like the Agreement and assassinated their President

1987- Intifada Palestinians organized violent and riots as well as Guerrilla Warfare Style Attacks against Israeli Soldiers who were trying to uphold the Camp David Accords Peace Agreement ( Ronald Raegan was POTUS ) 1993- Oslo Peace Accords: Was a peace deal that was supposed to give the Palestinians SELF-RULE in two Locations in Israel. 1- Gaza Strip & 2-West Bank ( Bill Clinton Was POTUS)

But: A Jewish Extremist Assassinated The Jewish Prime Minister of the Peace Deal to Stop it. NO PEACE DEAL: To this day there is no Peace Agreement Between the European Zionist Jews and the Palestinian People over the Control of the Historic Land Both Ethnic Groups of People are living in and claim as theirs. The New Peace Accords Were signed in Oslo Norway: A neutral U.N. Location Israel PM Yitzhak Rabin POTUS Clinton PLO Leader Yasser Arafat X
