You need to study the Bible because SO many people are SO confused about what it says. You want to KNOW what God tells us in His Word. A fun way to start a conversation about the Lord Jesus is to ask them what they think the word Awana means. 1 Intro (p. 8) 1:2 The people who wrote the Bible were eyewitnesses of different events. They actually saw some of the Bible lived out. 1:4 Luke was a medical doctor. Challenge Two 5 How Do We Know the Bible is True? Answer Back up Verses Chal. God used at least 40 men to write the Bible and yet it all fits together. Luke 1:1-2 Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us. Just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us. 2:2 The Bible was written over 1500 years yet all fits together. Events that were prophesied really happened. The Bible changes people s lives. 2 Peter 1:21 - For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Acts 16:29-31 - Then he called for a light, ran in and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Exodus 20: 5a You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. Exodus 20:7a, 8 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Storyline Things Challenge Three God offers us the ultimate gift eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. We don t deserve this gift. God offers it to us because of His love and grace. After we trust Christ, we become His workmanship something God has carefully made. A Tutor is the person put in charge to lead the child to the teacher. The purpose of the law is to show the seriousness of sin and lead us to Christ. The law was not given to save people, but to show people they need a Savior. Challenge 3:2 3:3 The first four commandments are about our attitude toward God. We are to honor and respect God in everything we say, do and think. What things can you do to show honor to God? (any of the following): o Study and memorize verses o Sing praise songs o Attend church o Tell my friends about the Lord Jesus Christ 3:4 The last 6 of the commandments give us instructions for treating our family, neighbors with honor. 3:5 The law (The Commandments) showed us we are sinners in need of a Savior. Because of His mercy, God sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to be our Savior.
