Last year St. Paul Lutheran church donated approximately $14,000.00 to mission needs both internationally and locally. These monies went to Operation Christmas Child (shipping costs), Lutheran World relief (disaster relief), Cross Connections (local Christian counseling services) and to Dr. Omolo o Kenya, Africa (fulfill transportation needs). Did you know that between three churches we were able to gather $21,000 to help fulfil transportation needs for Dr. Omolo? Think what you can do with a little help! We are interested in helping to fund a well for HOPE FOR THE DESTITUTE, operation in the direction of Dr. Omolo, in Kenya to help provide clean water to the orphans and widows who look to this agency for help. Mission work is more than an opportunity to donate money. We are interested in finding ways to get our church family involved. Be watching on how we can impact HOPE FOR THE DESTITUTE!! St. Paul Mission Committee CONGRATULATIONS! Since 2010, over $370 million has been distributed to thousands of churches, schools, and other nonprofits just like ours through Thrivent Choice. Did you know you can purchase Kohl s gift cards and pay your Kohl s charge bill at any Kohl s stores? We stock $10, $25, $50 and $100 increments. They have a 5% rebate. Did you know if a family spent $1070 in scrip a month they could potentially earn $457.00 in scrip credit? You would share half of that with CLS. If we had 250 families earn $457 in scrip credit, CLS and the families would split $91,400.00. We have so much potential growth in the scrip program with your help. Please consider getting involved with scrip. Contact Brenda Carey with any questions at 493-7913.
