Table Talk Conversations Underway This Month. Please Come! Dear Sage District Clergy and Church Leaders, I encourage you to come to the table and talk, either in Nampa on April 28 or Pocatello on May 19. Both Saturday events are from 1-5 p.m. If you are coming, please register because it will help the facilitators plan for materials and set up. If you are nervous about whether your thoughts and position will be accepted, our covenant together will be to remain curious and non-judgmental. (If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, please check out this great article by Oregon-Idaho Lay Leader Jan Nelson on the conference website.) The purpose is not to persuade you to change your position or to even oppose your position. We need to listen to each other, no matter what. The only outcome we are hoping for in these Table Talks is to provide a safe place to talk and to provide a model to do that around the Communion Table. I hope you will come and participate. Be sure to register at the link provided above, or you can find it on the Greater Northwest website (www.greaternw.org/table-talks). Lastly, I will let you know that there will be other opportunities, just not before Annual Conference, for Table Talk. Looking forward to talking with you, Rev. Gwen Drake, Sage District Superintendent, gwen@umoi.org, 503-530-0035 ADAH Meeting April 24th at 6:30 On Tuesday, April 24th at 6:30 our speaker will be a detective from the Idaho Falls Police Department speaking about senior issues such as scams. 6

Camping and Retreat Ministries 2018 Oregon and Idaho Conference The United Methodist Church We are people dedicated to creating quality environments of Christian hospitality and learning. This Ministry keeps growing and thriving under new leadership at all levels. There are 6 locations where camps and retreats take place. Camp Magruder, Suttle Lake Camp, Camp Latagwa, Wallowa Lake, A. L. Collins Retreat Center, and Sawtooth Camp that serve the United Methodist Church of Oregon and Idaho and the Oregon Diocese of the Episcopal Church. Donation of funds are always welcome to the Camping program to make this kind of Ministries available. There are programs for children, youth, adults and families too. For us in Eastern Idaho, the closest camp is Sawtooth. Which is located north of Fairfield, Idaho in the Sawtooth Mountains. Many youth from Trinity and other Methodist Churches in Southern Idaho have participated in the camping program through the years and we are hoping to recruit new campers of all ages to participate in the programs that are available now in 2018. Rev. Ruth Marsh and her husband, David Armstrong are active in supporting the program. David is Chairman of the Camp and Retreat Ministries Board for our conference, Ruth was the Dean of the Elementary Camp at Sawtooth last year and David was a counselor. They will be doing the same this year. We invite kids and families to join us this year.
