A Message from Fr. Chris. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners at St. Peter Damian, we have met and exceeded our goal for the Annual Catholic Appeal! I want to personally thank all of those that pledged to the Annual Catholic Appeal. The Annual Catholic Appeal s theme this year was, Come Follow Me and the success of the Appeal at our Parish demonstrates a commitment to follow Jesus and strengthen our Catholic Faith. Remember that funds in excess of our Parish goal are returned to our Parish and will be used to continue to maintain and enhance our Parish facilities. Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Christopher Ciomek Young Adult Group St. Peter Damian would like to begin a Young Adults Group. The purpose of the group is to provide an enjoyable, regular time, wherein young men and women can put down their cell phones, build good and lasting friendships, deepen their faith with regular prayer, increase their knowledge with instruction and conversation and simply have some time away from the craziness of the world with people of like hearts and minds. It is about growing authentic relationships with your brothers and sisters and with Jesus Christ. This group is open to all men and women, ages 21-35, single and married. It would meet in the evening either every other week or once a month. Deacon Zach will help get it off the ground and the format and location will ultimately be determined by the members. We are having an in pew survey this weekend to gauge interest. Even if you would not like to join please kindly fill out and say why not. Our first meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 st at 6:30 pm in the Coffee Room of the Main Church. We will be serving water, wine and snacks. Adult Faith Formation Presents The Footprints of God: Abraham - Father of Faith and Works He left his home, the bones of his ancestors and the false gods of his fathers to follow the God of glory. Excruciating trials, weary miles of desert travel, and even the command to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice did not deter him. Mount your camels and ride back in time to discover Abraham, the only man called the Friend of God. Born into a pagan family in the idolatrous city of Ur among ziggurat temples and foreign gods of Mesopotamia, Abraham heard the call of God and abandoned everything to go to the faraway land of promise. When required to offer his son as a sacrifice, Abraham held the course and pledged trust and obedience to God. Join the adventure as host Stephen Ray, best-selling author and popular Bible teacher, takes you on location in an exciting journey through Iraq, Turkey, the Palestinian Territories and Israel. You ll see the temple where Abraham was born, the place he offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice, and the Tomb of the Patriarchs where he is buried. Learn how Abraham was justified before God by faith, obedience and good works. This amazing saga sweeps through the Book of Genesis from creation to the journey into Egypt. The session will be conducted in the Rectory Meeting Room at 7:00pm on April 26. Following the video presentation, there will be a discussion period Please call the parish office to register. No fees are charged. Lifelong Faith Formation Offices: 131 S.
