Savannah First Baptist Church 500 East Pawnee Savannah, MO 64485 RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED Non-Profit Organization U.S. Postage Paid Permit #45 Savannah, MO 64485 Exciting times are ahead! Yes, you heard it here first! It is always good when we see and sense God s direction in our lives and in the life of this, His church! In sensing God s direction, after much prayer and consultation with deacons, staff, and others, we see God leading us to continue to have one service as we move into the fall and beyond. The deacon s voted unanimously to affirm this decision. We really believe God deserves our best in worship and for right now, that means one service. Here then is the exciting challenge: to grow, to win people to Christ, to do ministry so that the number of regular attenders FORCES us to add another service. This is our goal and our challenge from God, to extend the Kingdom into people s lives. As we accept that challenge, it will be truly exciting to see God at work in this church! Please begin praying about the search for a new staff person. We again, and always, need to see and feel God s direction. We will be keeping the church well informed about the job description and the search. It will be exciting to see God at work in this area! Finally, let me say a few words about recent events in our country. As a part of the body of Christ, under the command of God Almighty, we need to stand against the sins of racism and violence. We need to stand for the kingdom of God that says all people are created in God s image. We need to be loving and kind as commanded in Scripture! Hear the words of the Bible from Romans 12:17-21: 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the LORD. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. I Love You All In Christ, Pastor Mark I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened.
