historical justice
To right the wrong of the past History never was, and never will be, short of injustices and atrocities. Quests for their rectification, whether material or symbolic, have become a worldwide phenomenon, particularly over the last two decades. Deriving from those claims and calls are concepts of historical justice encompassing a broad and diverse spectrum of possible actions such as restitutions, reparations, compensations, rehabilitations, truth commissions, and official apologies. Conference at the GHI, March 27-29, 2003
.the origin of the concept of sustainable development by going far back in history to trace its roots. the idea of sustainability evolved through the centuries as a counter to notions of progress. in the latter half of the 20th century a paradigm shift in thinking about development caused sustainable development to occupy the centre stage in development discourses.
