MESSENGER SUNDAY SERVICE May 28, 2017 10:30 AM Rev. Dr. Roger Verse Scripture: Acts 1: 6-14 Sermon: "What Lord?" This week in Worship Service we are observing a time to remember our fallen military. Both the sanctuary and the fellowship hall will be appropriately and beautifully decorated to give special honor to these heroes, as well as to our loved ones who are no longer with us. GIRL SCOUT AWARD Last year two Girl Scout troops started holding their meetings in our Fellowship Hall. This photo shows the younger ones being welcomed during the Children s Message at a worship service when they first started meeting here. They are ages 5 through 8. In appreciation for the use of our facilities, these young girl scouts have awarded our Church a 2017 Community Award from the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida. This Sunday this award will be presented to the Church by troop member Ava Holmes during the Children s Message.

SUNDAY SCHOOLCONCLUDES FOR THE SUMMER This Sunday will be the last Sunday that Sunday School will be held during the Worship Service. A big THANK YOU is offered to Christian Education chairs Karen Kienzle and Cindy Fucigna, and the volunteer Sunday School teachers Cindy, Karen, Kathy Oldham, and Trish Moore. This photo is from last week s Children s Message before the children left for their Sunday School lesson. CHOIR HAS DISBANDEDFOR THE SUMMER AND WILL RESUME IN THE FALL As you can see from this photo, the choir shrinksconsiderably when the snowbird members leave.

All of the choir members give a huge thank you to music director Brandon Glick for making choir participation so rewarding (and so much fun!). We have learned a lot this year and look forward enthusiastically to the year to come. UPDATE MEMBER/FRIEND CHURCH DIRECTORY The updated church directory is available. Copies will be located on the sanctuary porch table on Sunday. You are welcome to take one if you like (one per family, please). There is also a form to sign if you would prefer to receive the directory and periodic updates via email. Many thanks to the Deacons who originated this project, and especially to Connie Frazee who collected, organized and prepared the information for print. SUNDAY FELLOWSHIP HOUR -- - SUMMER SCHEDULE During the summer (June, July and August) fellowship hour following the Sunday worship service will be held only on the first Sunday of the month. Birthdays of the month will be highlighted, along with some special celebrations. In June we will celebrate high school graduates, and in July we all look forward to Mary Wilburn s red, white and blue Fourth of July desserts. (Call-to-Action). Create a great offer by addingwords like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized."
