March 2016 Page 2 MARCH in The Year of Wellness Bill Hulse, Senior Pastor March is the beginning of Spring and the end of our fiscal year. Our budget year runs from April 1- March 31. Every March, we host a series of meetings to outline our proposed ministry budget. This year s budget has few changes but does include a new ministry position. We are asking Brian Weaver to transition from our Student Ministry area to lead a ministry to millennials and recreation. Statistics show that most churches lose their youth when they transition into their young 20 s. We believe that we can reverse that trend with a focused ministry to that age group. We also have a tremendous opportunity to reach out to our community through the new Wellness Center by providing adult and children recreation leagues and activities. Brian will be able to help us develop both of these vital ministries. We will be presenting the budget on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5:30 in room 143. There will be additional Q & A sessions if you have any questions about the budget. Through your faithfulness and stewardship, we are able to do life changing ministry that truly makes a difference in our neighborhood, our city, our state, our nation, and our world! I pray that this next budget year will be the greatest time of ministry to date. We have been greatly blessed this budget year to accomplish the first two phases of our Strategic Master Plan. Through the funds gained from the sale of some of our property for the Adult Wellness Center, we were able to expand and remodel the Annex building, add additional parking and remodel the interior of our main building. These two projects have been a huge blessing already as we were able to welcome our community during Festifall, Christmas Eve, and the Tim Tebow Night to Shine. We were able to pay for all these improvements from the proceeds of the sale of the land. What a huge blessing that has been as we continue to move forward and reach out to our community. The greatest times of the year to reach out is the Easter holiday season. Brad and our Worship Ministry are working around the clock to bring us 72 Hours: Death Was Arrested. We will have 3 special days to invite our family, friends and colleagues to experience the reality of God s love and redemption. We start on March 20th, Palm Sunday with the triumphal entry of Jesus complete with live animals and the dramatic portrayal of that monumental day. We then move into Good Friday where we experience a live reenactment of that last night Jesus spent with His disciples all the way through the Last Supper. Finally, we will host the largest crowd of the year on Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior! This year we are expanding to 2 services for each of the 3 events. Please check out the schedule and see which service best fits you and your family and help us spread the word. We will be coaching the entire church to reach out through a Facebook viral campaign. Watch for more details. Join the outreach army! God is radically blessing us with a tremendous number of guests and we are out of room. On April 3rd, we will be adding a second worship hour and a third Sunday School hour. We are calling this initiative 3-2-1 Launch. 3 Sunday School hours 2 Worship Services all beginning on 1 special day, April 3rd. All of the details are listed in this special edition of the LightPoints. I am so thankful to be a part of such a special fellowship that desires to honor God and do whatever it takes to continue to minister to others. To God be the glory! HE IS RISEN! BECOME FAMILY Shonn Keels, Associate Pastor Please mark your calendars and start inviting. Easter is upon us! Statistically more people attend church during the Easter season than any other time of the year. What an opportunity! God is already sending new people our way and many more are sure to come. Let us be faithful and maximize our redemptive potential by doing what we can to make the Easter worship experiences all that they can be to honor the Lord, encourage the church, and reach people. Help us get the word out that there will be two worship experiences Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Check this newsletter s front page for times. Our new schedule is coming soon with our 3-2-1 LAUNCH.
