Henryke & John Niemczyk Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm at St Boniface Cathedral Wednesday of Holy Week, March 28 9:00 am Mass in Garson The Sacred Paschal Triduum Through his Paschal Mystery, the Lord Jesus redeemed the human race and gave perfect glory to the Father. By dying, Christ destroyed our death; by rising, he restored our life. For this reason, the Easter Triduum, when we celebrate the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord, is the high point of the liturgical year. The Easter solemnity is to the year what Sunday is to the week. The celebration of the Easter Triduum opens with the evening Mass of the Lord s Supper, reaches its climax in the Easter Vigil, and closes with evening Prayer II on Easter Sunday. Easter Season The seven weeks from Easter to Pentecost are celebrated as one great feast day. St. Athanasius called them the great Sunday. Christians sing the Alleluia during these days in their rejoicing. (GNLY, no. 22) Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2 Do you put God first in all things? Possessions, money, power, ego can easily become gods to many of us. Do a quick check of what is important to you. Is God at the very top of the list? If not, your priorities need to be re-adjusted. Don t let earthly things become a god before God.
