Masses For The Week Commemoration of the Lord s Entrance into Jerusalem Saturday, March 24 Palm Sunday of the Passion of Our Lord. Year B. Sunday, March 25 Palm Sunday of the Passion of Our Lord. Year B. 9:00 am Mass in Garson Henry Kudlowich off. Henryke & John Niemczyk 11:00 am Mass in Cook s Creek George & Ilona Takacs off. Joseph & Ilona Selyem Holy Week Holy Week is the week which precedes the great feast of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, It includes the last days of Lent and the beginning of the Easter Triduum. During Holy Week, the Church celebrates the mysteries of salvation accomplished by Christ in the last days of his life on earth, beginning with his messianic entrance into Jerusalem. Monday of Holy Week, March 26 9:00 am Mass in Garson Personal intentions for Judy Koroscil off. Henryke & John Niemczyk Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm at St Boniface Cathedral Wednesday of Holy Week, March 28 9:00 am Mass in Garson The Sacred Paschal Triduum Through his Paschal Mystery, the Lord Jesus redeemed the human race and gave perfect glory to the Father. By dying, Christ destroyed our death; by rising, he restored our life. For this reason, the Easter Triduum, when we celebrate the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord, is the high point of the liturgical year. The Easter solemnity is to the year what Sunday is to the week. The celebration of the Easter Triduum opens with the evening Mass of the Lord s Supper, reaches its climax in the Easter Vigil, and closes with evening Prayer II on Easter Sunday. March 29 Holy Thursday s Mass of the Lord s Supper 7:30 pm Mass in Cook s Creek Paul Havixbeck off. Michelle Zubricki March 30 Good Friday of the Lord s Passion 2:30 pm Procession from the cemetery in Cook s Creek. 3:00 pm Celebration of the Lord s Passion in Cook s Creek. Fast and Abstinence: The Church of God fasts today and tomorrow to honour the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare to share more deeply in the joy of his resurrection. March 31 Easter Vigil 2:00 pm Blessing of the Easter Baskets in St. Michael s Church 8:30 pm Mass in Cook s Creek Dolores & Edward Sitarz off. Children of Dolores Edward April 1 Easter Sunday Baptism of Kaydence J. Cranstone and Tucker J. F. Rozmus 7:00 am Mass in Oakbank 9:00 am Mass in Garson Elizabeth Lachoski off. Henryke & John Niemczyk 11:00 am Mass in Cook s Creek Gil Gelinas off. Bea Gelinas & Family (Cf. Easter Vigil)

Easter Season The seven weeks from Easter to Pentecost are celebrated as one great feast day. St. Athanasius called them the great Sunday. Christians sing the Alleluia during these days in their rejoicing. (GNLY, no. 22) Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2 Do you put God first in all things? Possessions, money, power, ego can easily become gods to many of us. Do a quick check of what is important to you. Is God at the very top of the list? If not, your priorities need to be re-adjusted. Don t let earthly things become a god before God. The safest place to be is in someone's prayers, and the very best place to be is... in the hands of God Say a Prayer for members of our parish communities and non members who are experiencing or will be experiencing health issues and other concerns. No need to elaborate on the issue, but please forward their names to our bulletin email address. The one important request is that permission to print in the bulletin must be received from the person(s). This will be the responsibility of the person submitting the information. Fr. Joe had mentioned in one of his sermons that we should live our faith not just on Sundays but throughout the week. What better way to support our parish family than to Say a Prayer!
