RESIDENCY

COLLEGE PARK CHURCH RESIDENCY FOUR PILLARS SUBSTANTIAL MINISTRY EXPERIENCE TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PERSONAL MENTORING MISSIONAL LAUNCHING The residency is one of the most strategic and impactful things we do at College Park Church. Mark Vroegop, Lead Pastor, College Park Church I have confidence in a pastoral residency program where there is a simultaneous emphasis on biblical fidelity, expository preaching, and edifying relationships amongst the people of God. To train a pastor, it is extraordinarily helpful to see and experience a healthy local church. Dr. D.A. Carson, Research Professor of NT, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School College Park is a welcoming church with excellent pastoral leadership, deeply grounded in theology and relevant teaching. Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Pastor Emeritus, The Moody Church, Chicago What a blessing to be rowing in the same direction with College Park Church. Godly pastors, believing people, living church. Beautiful. Dr. Jim Hamilton, Professor of Biblical Theology, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary PAGE 2

VISION Our Vision for the College Park Residency is Strategic Mobilization At College Park Church we have a passion for following Jesus that we want to ignite in others. We believe that the gospel travels faster and farther when local churches are led by godly, gospel-centered, theologically-sound, competent servant-leaders. The College Park Church Residency equips, trains, and launches men and women into strategic gospel ministry across the city, state, and nations. What does this look like? The College Park Residency is a one or two-year, full-time paid leadership training program designed to develop men and women aspiring to vocational ministry with ministry experience, leadership coaching, and personal development within the College Park Church culture. Two or One-Year Residency Areas Lead Pastor/Campus Pastor Community & Discipleship Children s & Student Ministry Worship Arts Biblical Counseling Global, Urban, or Local Outreach Communications, Video, & Creative Arts Executive/Administrative Leadership PAGE 3

Our Residents Are Trained Thoughout the resident s term, you will have the opportunity to learn extensively and contribute significantly to ministry at College Park Church, following the training plan detailed on the following page. Residents will serve and grow under a Resident Coach, who will disciple and lead him or her through their tenure. Residents also will participate in a weekly cohort gathering led by the Pastor of Theological Development for reading, reflection, development, and challenging one another. After completing the Residency Training, we believe you will have a wholistic understanding of ministry and leadership in the local church. Our Residents are Launched into Gospel Ministry In the last 9-12 months of your residency, the Residency leadership team will help you launch into the next phase of ministry to which God is calling you. We will provide assistance in creating your resume, building a network, and coaching you through the next steps. We have helped launch past residents to go on to lead churches, plant churches overseas, teach at Bible colleges, and much more. PAGE 4
