Elul: Getting Ready For A Fresh Start Monday, September 4 at 10:00 am and 8:00 pm Join us for an exclusive South Florida showing of Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi s video presentation for women at BRS. Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi is an attorney and Rabbinical Court advocate, but she is most wellknown for her incredibly popular, inspirational lectures and classes heard around the world by diverse audiences. Sponsored by close friends of the Galbut family in the zechut of a refuah shelaima for Baruch Tzvi ben Rivka Batya WOMEN S INSPIRATIONAL NIGHT OUT An Evening with Dina Hurwitz: A Story of Hope and Inspiration Sunday night, September 10 at 7:00 pm in the BRS Social Hall Introductory remarks by Rebbetzin Yocheved Goldberg Dina Hurwitz is a proud mother of seven children. Her life was turned upside down when, in 2013, her husband, Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz, was diagnosed with ALS. Amidst battling her husband's terrible illness and raising her family, Dina outrageously inspires through sharing her honest reflections of faith and hope during the most trying of times. Dina s message of devotion, faith, tenacity, motherhood and gratitude will impact you like never before. Her smile lights up the room, and she will make you laugh and cry all in one breath. This event is being sponsored anonymously. Refreshments sponsored by the BRS Sisterhood. the teshuva crash course Experiencing Elul with 4 Very Different Rabbis While we often talk about Elul being a time for Teshuva (repentance), the truth is that word meant very different things to different Rabbis throughout our history. Join us for this four-part series and learn how these great Rabbis approached the notion of repentance. You will come away with a greater appreciation for who these Rabbis were as people, what their philosophies were, and, most importantly, you will come away inspired. Tapping into this unique time period, Sephardim recite selihot throughout the month of Elul. Starting on Thursday, August 24 and through Yom Kippur, join the Sephardic Minyan for selihot each morning before Shacharit chanted to the traditional inspiring melodies. Elul is a time of preparation. Let a month of selihot get you inspired and prepared for the High Holidays.

NEW MEMBERS EVENT SELICHOT NIGHT Saturday night, September 16 COMMUNITY CONVERSATION: Maintaining a Yearning for Holiness in a Wholly Unholy World Until recently, protecting one s Kedusha (sanctity) was as simple as sheltering oneself and one s family from outside forces that were antithetical to our Torah values. Today, however, with images, ideas and opportunities that are destructive and damaging not only accessible but enticing, it is a new world. Protecting our Kedusha is no simple matter. It requires vigilance, education, practical techniques and it is equally applicable to people of all ages and levels of religious observance. Join us in the Social Hall at 9:30 pm Selichot night for this important community conversation about making boundaries, using literal and metaphorical filters, and maintaining our Kedusha in an overexposed world. New to the Community? Join us Thursday, September 7 for a fantastic new members event and an opportunity to meet the Rabbis and their families, committee heads and fellow new members. For more information about the event or to join membership, contact the shul office at (561) 394-0394 or linda@brsonline.org Rabbi Frand Teshuva Derasha Wednesday night, September 27 at 8:00 pm with Rabbi Yissocher Frand, via satellite in the BRS Social Hall. weekly Classes PARSHA class Pizza sponsored by Jon's Place Middle School Selichot Program Saturday night, September 16 at 8:30 pm in the Berdugo Beit Midrash - an incredible and meaningful Selichot Program just for you. Inspire yourself and elevate your soul in anticipation of the Yamim Noraim. Amud Shavui Program Amud Shavui, which literally means the "page of the week," is the weekly learning of one Amud of Gemara. Whereas a Daf Gemara refers to both sides of a page (folio) of Gemara, an Amud refers to just one side of a Gemara page. For Amud Shavui, one specific Amud of Gemera is assigned per week for the community to learn together. If you would like to join an Amud Shavui shiur, please contact Avi Oppenheimer (aviopp@ gmail.com) or Mordy Goldenberg (mordygo@gmail.com).
