Baptism Training Accepting Christ is the most significant action a person can ever take. Beginning Sunday, July 2, 2017, (8:45am 9:45am), CLM will begin Baptism classes. This will be a three-week training session where you will learn the significance of Baptism. If you are interested, please see Minister Stan Williams. Baptism Training (Week 1) Sunday, July 2 Purpose of Water Baptism Symbolism of Water Baptism Obeying God s Commands Baptism - Beginning of a New Life Baptism Training (Week 2) Sunday, July 9, 2017 Baptism Order of Service Candidate s Dress Requirements Candidates Preparation Baptism Training (Week 3) Sunday, July 16, 2017 Candidates Regenerated Life Candidates New Birth Review and Questions Baptism Celebration Sunday, July 23, 2017 Baptism is an important step in following Jesus. It symbolizes one s death to sin, burial of the old life and resurrection to new life in Christ just as Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose to life again (Romans 6:3-5). Jesus command His followers to make disciples and to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20). Baptism has no saving virtue in itself, Jesus is our only Savior. But those who love Him will follow Him in baptism to signify their decision to accept Him as their Savior. If you are interested, please see Minister Stan Williams or complete the Request to be Baptized Form below. Prerequisites for Being Baptized 1. Confess your sins 2. Repent your sins 3. Believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Savior 4. Complete CLM Water Baptism three-week Training Request to be Baptized!!! Please complete and return to the church office or drop this form into the offering basket on Sunday morning. F.A.T. (Financial Accountability Team) Corner Monthly Financial Tip What s Your Number? What's your cell phone number? What's your work phone number? What's your social security number? These are all numbers we can all recite from memory, we are so familiar with them. What's your driver s license number? What's your credit card number? The answers to these questions you might not be able to recite from memory, but no big deal. When you need too, you just pull it out of your wallet, do what you need to do and keep it moving. Well how about this question...what is your net worth? How many of you could answer that question? How many of you even know what it is? Knowing your net worth is important for your financial health. Consider those with health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension (high blood pressure). They are constantly monitoring their measurements to ensure they are within their targets or progressing satisfactorily towards them. Well, how's your financial health? Are you in tip top shape, or are you on the brink of financial cardiac arrest? How would you know? What are your measurements? Your net worth is one of the most important financial measurements. It helps you understand where you are financially. Which, in turn, helps you get to where you want to be. We all want to be millionaires, right? Well, how close are you to getting there? Saying you want to be a millionaire is like saying I want to go to the Bahamas. Everybody knows where it is, but the directions to get there are different based on where you are currently located. The path is different for someone in Maryland vs someone in Africa - which is much farther away. Your net worth is your financial GPS current location, allowing you to easily plot how to get to your target destination. There may be many alternate paths, each with different timeframes for getting there. The key is always knowing where you are so that any necessary rerouting can take place. So, here's your homework. Go figure out your net worth. The measurement is simple. Net worth = (Sum Total Value of all assets) - (Sum Total Balance of all debts) Assets include your home (if you are not renting), your car (regardless of whether or not you have a car note), bank accounts, computers, phones, even the clothes on your back. Basically, anything you can sell. However, the focus is on the more significant things. So, let's set aside your awesome shoe collection - whether it s J s or Red Bottoms, for the purpose of this discussion. Debts are obvious. Anything you owe. Mortgages, car notes, credit cards, that under the table loan from Ray Ray. Basically, anybody constantly blowing up your phone with Rihanna s song playing in the background. Figure out your number so you can figure out how to get where you want be. Next month we'll talk about how to get there with the least amount in tolls! Dedicating our children to the Lord is an important covenant we make before God. It is through baby dedication that parents and godparents make this covenant and publicly proclaim their faith in Christ and their commitment to pass their faith to their children. As a church, we desire to help you succeed in this parenting journey. On Sunday, June 25, 2017, the following babies were dedicated to the Lord. Deaconess Diane Williams, lovingly referred to by many as Di, Momma Di and to numerous grand-, great-grand and other children as Me-Ma - has added yet another name to the list - Dok-Tor Di. Dok-Tor Di received this welldeserved title as a result of her passion and extensive research in the area personal health and wellness and even more so in the area of spiritual and natural health and healing. HEALTH AS PRIMARY FOOD Health is not just about diet and exercise, it s about consistently addressing your health issues and listening to your body s needs; understanding that health is a journey, not a destination. The food on our plates is important but it s just one aspect of our health. What s just as important are the lifestyle decisions we make that feed us at our core level (the central part or most important part of anything). The people we keep as company; the kinds of exercise we do regularly; the jobs we invest our time and energy into; and the way which we connect on a spiritual level to all things. It s all of these pieces and more that contribute to whether or not we will feel happy and fulfilled in our everyday life. Through the integrative nutrition approach of addressing all components of health and lifestyle (as shown in the Wheel of Life) rather than diet only, we can begin with ourselves and in time transform our society and our planet. Here are 10 points to consider as food for thought: 1. Healing the diet didn t always heal the person. 2. Realize how important it is for you to be able to share your story; to help you feel validated and supported. 3. Provide for yourself a safe space within which you could open up about a the personal issues going on in your life. People are starving for this kind of health. Wheel of Life 4. People not only suffer from poor nutrition when it comes to their diets, they suffer from poor nutrition Page 6 Covenant Connection

Healthy Corner (cont d) when it comes to the experiences that feed them every day. 5. Working jobs that make you miserable and maintaining relationships with people who bring you down is not healthy. 6. Many people don t know how to nourish themselves on a spiritual level. Learn to. There is a feast to be had in reading the Word. 7. Food is important (critically) to health and well-being. I have found it to be secondary to the level of love and joy that surrounds us in our lives. Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. 8. The term primary food describes the many non-food foods that people need in order to feel happy, secure and fulfilled. 9. Through the primary foods concept, the area of nutrition has now been expanded to include more than the food we put in our mouth. Nutrition is everything you consume and everything you surround yourself with. 10. There is no predetermined set of rules when it comes to diet and lifestyle only different people with difference preferences and needs. My prayer is that you have gained some insight into your health and the primary food necessary for a wellbalanced life. Until next time Stay blessed and in good health! Healthy Corner (cont d) I was skeptical about this recipe because Salmon is one of my favorite things to eat & can easily be ruined. I like my Salmon a certain way & never I deviate because I don t want to be disappointed lol. So because of that, I did 1/2 of my filet in my traditional style & the other 1/2 with this recipe (Hence the picture of two different Salmon filets.) Now I wish I would ve done the entire filet with this Parmesan Herb Crust because it is thebomb.com (and super easy)! Parmesan Herb Crusted Salmon Ingredients: 1 Salmon filet, about 2lbs. left whole Parmesan Herb Crust: 3 cloves Garlic, minced 1/4c chopped Parsley 1/2c Parmesan Cheese What To Do: 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. 2. Place Salmon skin side down, onto lined baking sheet. Cover Salmon with another piece of parchment paper. 3. Bake Salmon for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and remove top piece of parchment paper. 4. Top with Garlic, Parmesan and Parsley mixture. Return to oven uncovered and allow to bake until center of Salmon is flaky (no more than 20 minutes.) The Parmesan Cheese should have melted and lightly browned. Allow to rest about 5 minutes, serve & ENJOY! July 2017 Issue 3 Page 9

Fun Time Corner (cont d) How well did you do? Here are the answers to last months puzzle. Answer to 20 Books of the Bible Someone showed me this story and remarked that there are twenty books of the Bible hidden here. He challenged me to find them. Sure enough they're all here. Still this thing is a lulu. Kept me looking so hard for the longest time. Some of you will get bogged down with facts, others are hit by them like they were some kind of revelation or one may get in a jam, especially since the names are not capitalized and often leap the spaces between the words. This makes it a real job to find them, but it'll provide a most fascinating few minutes for you. Yes, there are some really easy ones to spot, but don't get the big head cause truthfully you'll soon figure that it would take more federal judges and preachers numbers of hours to find them all. I will admit that it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and that it is not uncommon for there to be loud lamentations when it is pointed out. One lady says that when she is confronted with puzzles like this, she brews a cup of tea to help her concentrate better, but then this gals a real pro. Verbs, nouns, and all that stuff are her thing. See how well you can compete. relax! If you fail to find them, there's a penalty. You'll have to go fly a kite, sit on a banana, hum the Battle Hymn of the Republic, or hose a dog (a mean one).
